Love this! New to trains and love all things HP! This will be perfect to go around the tree this year! Also purchased the Dementor car accessory which did not disappoint! This is easy enough to operate with the app and love the feature where you can add additional recordings! I do, however, also like the remote control! The recording feature can be a bit glitchy and sound can inconsistent. I did find that others had the same issue when I was troubleshooting. It can take a few tries to get it right. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase!

I REALLY love this train. I bought it intending to check it out and then buy one for each of my three kids families that have kids if I loved it. I had to return it because all three families said their kids would rather have a cheaper version that they could play with at their ages. (Four and under.) This one is the kind of train that you buy for a display and you make your kids just look at but not play with for the price point. So well made and worth it and I highly recommend it. I may go back and buy one for myself for them to look at at grandma's house. It's the perfect scale IMO. I also have the larger G scale that we still have from when my kids were little but this O scale is better for creating a village effect and my love for this train had me spending an entire vacation plotting village purchases on Amazon😂😂 My husband didn't complain till after the vacation was over or I would have stopped earlier 😂😂 BUY IT!!

Don't expect a plug and play experience. This is a hobby that requires lots of maintenance. If you can't use a screwdriver you shouldn't buy this. Luckily I am a hobbyists. I didn't expect so much maintenance. Tracks need cleaned almost daily. They get a waxy build up that interferes with power transmission. I had to physically modify some springs to make it run correctly. After 20hrs of run time I had to open up the Chief train and solder the 2nd gear on because it was slipping on the splines. I'm not disappointed as I expected all of these issues. Now it runs pretty darn reliably after all my fixes. Tracks still need cleaned often.

I love this Hogwarts Train Set. Now it hasn't been an easy purchase. First one was defective. Amazon facilitated an quick return and replacement. Great derail and a wonderful addition to my collection. Working on a Harry Potter platform!
