The Cressi Light fins are specifically designed for pool use and for swim training, but can also be used adequately for recreational swimming and snorkeling. The short blade is made of a highly reactive and light material which guarantees agile and effective kicking while not tiring out your legs. The length of the blade has been researched and studied by Cressi to ensure perfect muscle training without causing cramps or discomfort. The anatomically designed foot pocket is made from soft rubber elastomers, and it houses the foot with a great deal of comfort, even during long swimming sessions. Made in Italy by Cressi manufacturing.

Good design
I've used these twice now and have not had cramps. I had calf and foot cramps for 4 years before this with my previous fins from Sporti. The Sporti fins cramped my legs after swimming just 1 mile on a 2 mile swim. These are nice and light but they sink. They also feel a little disconnected at the toes where the inflexible plastic extends from the toes, but its easy to get used to. The foot fits well, but is slightly loose. I wear size 11.5 US and ordered 11/12 US. I would rather have them slightly large than too small.

Was worried about the width
After reading about other's review, I ordered these because of the "bigger than usual" posts. I have an 11 1/2 EEE size and needed something for my wide foot. I don't know why everyone said these were bigger than usual - it was a little tight width-wise when I tried them on first thing. However, once I got them in the pool, they were snug - but not overly so. I had no problems with comfort. As far as length - I didn't see my toe poking out of the slit on top, so my guess is that there is room for longer feet. I agree with someone's post about being slippery on the bottom, my feet slid off the pool wall if I hit it at an angle - so I would have liked to see more soft rubber on the bottom. As far as using them in my workout, I was surprised at how much extra ump it added. I've been swimming for about 20 years off and on. Now at 60, I'm having joint problems and needed to add something to my workout. I've never used fins for my lap swimming before and have never been much of a kicker. Right away I noticed how much it raised my heartbeat and I needed to stop to catch my breath where I hadn't before. It also force me to use my legs more, which is what I was hoping for. I still haven't gotten used to turning around with them on, since they cause resistance in that act, but I'm not a flipper. I just a turn when I reach the wall.

Great Compact All-Purpose Fins
I needed a pair of compact size fins primarily for lap swimming training. I've used world renown Cressi Sub SCUBA gear for many years and found it to be professional grade. These fins are perfect for recreational purposes and well designed. They are great for strengthening, stretching, and coordinating your legs which normally don't undergo much resistance during a swim. These fins help me improve my swimming form by increasing my speed and shifting a major part of the burden from the upper body to the legs thus changing up the workout. I shift back from fins to no fins balance the session and find my unaided freestyle improved. They become part of your body if fitted well. Fortunately, I took the advice of some reviewers who suggested that choosing a size down helped ensure a good fit. I wear a 9.5 wide US and the smaller size ( 8/9 US, 41/42 EU, 7/8UK) felt like a custom fit without any excessive constriction or rubbing. They are a joy to use and much more agile ,light and flexible than I was used to compared to most rigid and heavy 'old school' diving fins. They are a joy to use for swift lap swimming and could become addictive if not retired from duty once in awhile! I really enjoy using mine and used them daily (on a periodic basis) with much satisfaction. I can't recommend them enough if your an avid swimmer or a recreational snorkeler who travels with his gear in a suitcase or duffel bag.

Excellent lap swim fin!!
I wear a size 11/ 1/2 shoe and their size 10-11 fits perfect. I like the extra width you get with the Cressi fins. I'm a devoted lap swimmer with over 3900 miles so I've gone thru many pairs of fins. I like the Cressi brand the best and had been using their Cressi Pluma fin which is longer but with the longer fins whether a Cressi or US Diver they always crack just ahead to the toe area and get real floppy. I thought I'd try the short 16" fin and just love them! They fit in the gym bag better, are very comfortable and I notice no difference in my kicking power. I still have plenty of power and it is much easier doing the turns and I expect these will last much longer since the long fins use to break at the 16" mark and these are already short. If you are looking for a good fin to do lap swimming with you can't go wrong with these and the sizes run pretty true. I use a cotton sock with them just to reduce skin irritation plus it makes them very comfortable and you have the room to use them with a sock. I use a regular cotton sock which is much cheaper than the neoprene ones they sell plus I'm allergic to the neoprene so its a good alternative and much cheaper.

Snorkeling was great with my new, short fins!!
Had always used regular long fins snorkeling so was a little concerned that the short fins would make a difference when swimming. They were great, much easier for packing in my suitcase, and no difference snorkeling.

Perfect for my training needs!
I wanted flippers to improve my kicks, ankle flexibility, and resistance training to build better muscle. These are absolutely perfect for all those reasons.Pros: they're slightly weighed down by their design meaning you won't get inverted in the water by overly buoyant flippers, which is something I've had a lot of trouble with in the past. They're so incredibly well built, that I don't notice even a hint of wear and tear even with pool use. With previous flippers I'd bought, after hour in the pool they're were starting to fray and fall apart at the tips.So comfortable! I have no fear of them falling off, plus they're not causing blisters or tightness, which I thought they might.Cons: They will make your calves, thighs and feet feel sore. They are not meant for leisure in my opinion, these are true training fins. They're meant to build you up, not make swimming easier. Not a fan of the open toe, it feels strange in the water. Adds a whole lot of drag (but then again, that's what is making it a better resistance fin). I think they if you wore a scuba sock it would take care of that added drag.Did not come with carrying case. For such beautifully made fins, I'd have expected some form of carrying case or bag to go with them.Overall:Would buy a million times over. Has made my workout exactly what I wanted it to be!

Great fins with the right amount of flex.
Great fins with the right amount of flex. They are comfortable and easy to get on and off but stay in place whilst swimming. I have size 9.5 feet so at the top of the range for the fins. They are a lot lighter than the fins they replaced. Overall I am very happy with these fins.

Buy the smaller size
Quite a heavy and rigid front part. I am size 9 in a running shoe and bought the 8.5 - 9.5 but they are a bit loose and I managed to knock one off in my first use (where I discovered they sink).

Great present great value
Very well received Christmas present for my Dad, they seem good quality and fit and better suited for travel and novices due to size. I also like the white colour although didnβt expect to.

compact fins.
We bought this especially for its size. I have size 10 shoes, so went for the large. It fitted perfect, and easily packed into my suitcase. The fins were perfectly adequate for snorkeling.
