3 days in Yosemite, bass lake, and Merced river, PERFECT for 1 person and their gear. Im a big guy (wide and big boned not tall) and it fit me just fine. Super quick setup and tear down. I cannot stress this enough: everyday on the trip I was the first one setup and first one torn down. Always waiting for everyone else to be done. The 2 pole 4 stake quick setup combo is unmatched. And it being so easy DOES NOT fault the integrity of the tent at all. It’s just perfect. Material is strong, ventilation is good IF you leave flaps open, if you don’t, you’ll wake up with condensation built up from you breathing overnight, but that’s ANY tent so it’s not a big deal. The tub flooring protects from any rain that could happen. It’s not an all season by any means, but for so-cal it’s perfect. For spring-fall perfect ANYWHERE. If you’re a stickler about wanting more space, get the 2 person. If you’re just using this to get in, sleep, wake up and get out, this is for you.

This inexpensive tent will exceed your expectations. It is well designed and well crafted with an extended tub bottom, good solid zippers, very easy set up and take down and an overall well balanced weight vs size ratio. No, it is not a top of the line REI tent for 4 seasons including your jaunt to Everest and Patagonia. This is for casual camping use - too heavy for significant backpacking - but light enough and compact enough to toss in the trunk and away you go. Note that this is a one person tent unless you and your companion are really diminutive The set up is intuitive and takes only a few minutes but be sure to get a ground sheet to place underneath. It is stable even without guy wires but if there's wing, tie it down. No gaps on the zippers so bugs cannot get in easily. In terms of value for money, this one is a winner.

I needed a tent to go camping. I had a 6 person tent from a major brand that had one of the tent pole supports break and it was a very large tent for only a single person. Enter this Night Cat. Unpacking was super easy. Unwrap all the tent poles and rubber bands. Lay the tent out. Assemble the main poles and form an X. Insert the poles into the fasteners at the bottom. Start securing the lower clasps onto the poles and once at the top, tie the ceiling to the axis of the cross poles. Assemble the rain fly poles and insert into their holders. Secure the rain fly using the clasps. Voila. Done. Easy breezy. This tent has some really cool features. IF you have a large battery bank on wheels you have a passthrough for a cord. The windows has some really good mesh for keeping the bugs out and letting fresh air in. There is a hook at the ceiling for a lamp or small led light source. Sleeping on the ground with a memory foam cot sized ground pad feels spacious and enough space around to lay down cell phones, wallet, keys and water you have in your pockets. Not much storage space so be mindful of what you want to keep inside. At 5'9" this is perfect for me. Anyone taller is going to be cozy with the walls. To me it seems like it will fit a standard cot but not an extended cot. Cons: The rain fly does not come down the front entrance or back window far enough. If it is raining with a sideways wind I can see water ingress through the roof a possibility. At that point a tarp put over the tent and secured to the ground will help immensely and help buffet the wind. That is more weight and space so a luxury for car campers. For solo adventurers it may be a con that puts this out of competition. In conclusion there is a lot of value in this tent. It may only last a season or two but it works and it is lightweight enough. Update: Out in the wild this tent showed that it really is a 3 season tent. In Winter when temps drop you will need a 0F sleeping bag or quilt. As well as some insulating wool. It kept the wind off of me during 35 mph gusts. It has a lot of ventilation for a single person tent. I like how simple it is to setup and the included cord helped when securing the tent for the wind. I like the high tub line, it helps keep dirt out. If I had to choose again I would go for a double layer tent. Or drape a lightweight tarp over to help insulate.

Threw it out back during a rain storm. Set up is quite easy and it's definitely light weight and easy to pack somewhere... Didn't sleep in it, but upon take down noticed some minor pooling of water inside. Could have been from humidity or the included (typical trash) stakes in a storm or even drip from opening it as it was quite wet the following morning. I wouldn't say it's water PROOF but at least resistant in a medium pour. But all in all it seemed to do the job. Don't think I'd trust it in anything more than summer though. But as I said, quick, easy, did the job. Probably not that durable long term but we'll see So... Better than expected so 4 stars?

Here's a preliminary review based on an initial trial setup in my back yard on dry grass on a dry day. I didn't stake anything down, but I set it up fully, otherwise. Everything was brand new in the bag. Never opened. All necessary parts included. Great start. Keeping in mind that this is a $50 tent, the first thing I noticed is the tent poles are lightweight, but that's because they are very thin and made of very low-quality fiberglass. I could feel the splinters in my bare hands as I was getting the poles set up. Not a great feeling for brand new tent poles. Next, I noticed that as I set the poles out and into the grommets and started to put tension on them, I could hear them crackling. They didn't break as far as I can tell, but that makes me worried that they aren't very durable and might not last more than a few trips out. I'm concerned that I should print a pole splint with me. The tent material seems pretty thin, but, as far as I could tell, the stitching was pretty good. I did notice that the elastic to tie the rain fly down seemed very stretched on at least one of the corners. I didn't want to invest too much on any of my camping gear, yet, because I'm pretty new to it. But I also don't want to be struck out in the middle of nowhere without a place to sleep. I'm bringing a back-up tarp and Paracord in case my tent fails, but I'd like to not be in that situation. At the end of the day, it's a $50 tent. For the price, it seems pretty good. I won't expect too much, but I'll update the review if I run into any serious issues.

Somewhat easy to set up. Good quality material, rainproof but not necessarily waterproof and quite ventilated. Space only for comfortable for one to sleep. Can fit a one person sleeping pad. Good quality zippers and has a nice room covering. Spacious for one person to put your bags and sleeping pad.

I brought this Night Cat two person tent on a backpacking trip with my son and it worked out really well for us. It was the right size and we both fit comfortably with a little space left for our gear. Setting it up was quick and simple, which was a big plus after hiking all day. The zippers worked smoothly and the overall build feels sturdy. The materials aren’t the most high end, but they’re definitely good for the price. It handled a breezy night without any issues and kept us dry. Overall, it’s a dependable tent that I’d recommend for casual backpacking or short trips.

Decent enough tent, but at 5' 8.75" i stretch from one wall to the other. There also isn't really enough room for my gear in here with me. I am currently in the tent as I write this, and I plan on returning it next week because it doesn't suit my needs. I think it would work better for a kid than an adult. Its the one person model.

I've used other tents at higher price points but find myself taking the Night Cat out whenever I'm on a trip that doesn't require a more specialized tent. It's incredibly roomy for how small it packs down, has amazing airflow and is very easy to set up. The tent bag is also much higher quality than the stuff sacks that a lot of more expensive tents tend to come in, with it being fully waterproof when sealed, to the point that nothing in the bag got wet even when I once dropped it in a puddle where it was fully submerged.

Spacious 1 person tent, easy to put up and tear down, excellent quality for the price. Perfect for solo bikers
