Even at this length, the signal is crystal clear with no dropouts, no noise, and no distortion.The cable itself feels very premium – solid connectors, secure fit, and the white finish blends perfectly with my setup (especially along skirting boards). It’s flexible enough to route around corners without feeling flimsy, but sturdy enough to inspire confidence that it will last.I tested it with a soundbar, home cinema system, and my Xbox/PlayStation — everything worked flawlessly. Plugged it in it worked

This cable, together with a USB-Toslink converter from Nobsound Douk, now feed 24-bit/96kHz digital audio from my Mac Studio to my Marantz PM7000n amplifier. In turn, this amp feeds a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 loudspeakers.Before I installed this cable I was using the Heos app to feed music to my amplifier. The Heos app sources music from my uPnP server on my Mac, my iPhone or my online content (e.g. Deezer).I was not expecting a step up in audio quality by using this Toslink cable and the converter from Nobsound Douk.Well, in reality there is an improvement, and a very obvious one too. Everything is better placed and clearer. The bass is more tuneful and agile, and the treble shines through. Vocal resolution is significantly improved. I listen to music as part of my job, and I'm hearing things in tracks I have not heard before in decades of listening.I don't understand this improvement. But it is very enjoyable. I am a happy customer.

Odd to have rating "sound quality" as toslink cables generally either work or they don't. They don't when they do not fit well or the cable is so heavy it pulls down on the plug and misaligns it. These fit with a reassuring click and work fine (mine is 4m).However, the plastic pack was punctured with a plug hanging out, and the dust caps were not on or had some off. I dedusted the ends carefully. The cable itself tends to spring back into a coil and takes a while to straighten. You can tell for example where the cable was wrapped by ties in the bag. The cable casing has the feel of the casing used for mains flex - it isn't as floppy as other toslink cables I have that just flop along a skirting for example. I guess it'll straighten with time.Amazon Basics cables are better except in one important respect - they only come in black which is useless with a cable running along a white skirting. Either works. As do Kenable which are cheaper - only don't come in long lengths.
