Good daily exercise rider
I got this to replace my trail bike for daily street exercise rides. I ride about 60-90 minutes a day covering about 15-20 miles typically. This bike has served me well now after two months of regular riding, having put at least 500 miles on it by now.I like the weight, the ease of shifting, and the 2x11 gearing. I have not gotten a flat yet, which is amazing since riding the same roads on my trail bike resulted in flats every few days.Assembly was pretty easy but the instructions were of little help. A single page serves as the assembly and operating guide. There’s no maintenance guide, safety instructions or anything of the sort. If you are not familiar with the Shimano shift/brake levers and especially if you are used to t-bar handles you might want to find a quick online video for a tutorial. This bike is very low to the ground. As a result I have sometimes drug my pedal/foot while banking turns. It’s usually avoidable but requires some additional attention. When I first received the bike there was a burr of material inside the tube where the seat slides down, at the joint where the rear wheel braces join into the frame. This prevented the seat from lowering more than half way down. I ordered a long file to deal with this but before it arrived I solved the problem by riding a bit and my 180lbs of weight won the battle. This kinda sucked when it happened but it did solve the problem. It’s easy to mount a standard water bottle holder. Handlebar mount headlight/phone holders are more of a problem with the thick handlebar design but I got mine to work.I replaced both the pedals and the seat. The left crank was giving me a pop every revolution of the pedal when it wasn’t screwed in extra tight. Two different pedals did this, one of which was the one that came with the bike. It was annoying but some extra torque fixed it.It’s comfortable to ride every day and is good for me as my exercise ride. I’m a man, 6’, 180lbs in his mid 50s. I’m not a competitive rider.
