Lava® Lamp - 14.5'' Vinyl Record Grooved Base - The Original Motion Light - Yellow Wax and Orange Liquid - Item #2017

Lamp arrived in perfect condition. Liquid is perfectly clear (orange in this case) not cloudy at all. No dents in the base. I saw several negative reviews before purchase. Please understand what you are buying when you purchase a Lava lamp. They look really cool, but they take HOURS to heat up enough for the wax to flow. It uses a small 25 watt bulb to heat the liquid inside. The lamp itself gets hot. If you follow the directions inside, you have a good quality cool looking lamp.

This yellow lava lamp with the black vinyl record base makes a great addition to my collection as the only yellow I have. Runs well.

Not sure if I got a dud or what, but similar to another reviewer the lava (aka the melted wax) stopped melting after a few days. Most of it stays as a blob at the bottom of the lamp and a small bit stays at the very top of the lamp. Even after a few hours where the base & glass is hot (so I know the light bulb is working correctly), the wax doesn't flow at all and stays at the bottom. This is disappointing since it was a gift and the recipient really really liked it. I'm returning it for a replacement of the same item since it was so well received and I'm keeping my fingers crossed the new one will work better. But I'm not holding my breath.

Perfect

Got this for my sons friends birthday and he loved it!!! He plays guitar so it being a vinyl record was a cool touch. Super bright and looks like melted gold!

I loved this lamp but I wanted something a little more colorful so returned It for a different color.

Bought this as a gift for my daughter. Love the vinyl record look. Giving it 4 stars because it stopped working properly after a few months though…it does not heat up as fast and the wax is clumpy.

Blub was dead. Lamp does not melt , just sits at the bottom. After I bought a new blub the lava isn't moving not working.

Es importante entender que el líquido no es transparente, no es que esté defectuosa (cloudy). Es la original, tamaño excelente, la luz es hermosa en un cuarto apagado, muy complacida.

I purchased a used item (either a return or an open box) because it was cheaper and works perfectly without any damage or scratches. The bulb socket screw was tight, so I was worried it might break the bulb, but it held up just fine. It takes a couple of hours to warm up and work properly (As per the instructions.). I was also concerned about the yellow colour, but it looks great. I like it !

Exelente compra muy protegida

People complaining about it being cloudy clearly didn't read the instruction. It's normal for it to be cloudy when you first get it because the wax mixed with the clear liquid during shipping. The instructions said to just let it sit for 8 hours without turning it on. Then turning it on until just the wax softens (no movement, about 2 hours). This allows the wax dissolved in the liquid to melt and drop back down to the bottom. Then let it cool down completely, and then turn it back on for 10 hours. When I got my lamp, it was pretty cloudy and now that I did that, the liquid is as clear as it can be. If you were hesitating to buy this, don't. You can't better for the low price and the colour is amazing.

Wax takes forever to heat, then doesn't move around easily, its very slow moving not like other people's lava lamps,it's not very cool to watch. Don't really recommend, also I dropped it off the end table onto the carpet and that was it,stopped working,it didn't even land very hard at all.
