Q: What material is plastic? Is it easy to fade?How long is the service life?

The whole thing is hard molded plastic. I have just used it a couple of times thus far. The color holds fast - it only comes in contact with the dough and is never heated, and while I did put it in the dishwasher to clean it, it did not warp or discolor. As for how long it lasts, I think for me it will last many years, since I will most likely use it just once or twice a year. If you are going to use it every week, obviously it might not last as long - but it appears pretty durable to me, and again, you are not doing anything to it that would chip or bend it. I can tell you that over all I am very pleased with the mold.

Q: Is the plastic bpa free?

I am not really sure about that.I really don't remember if it was mentioned in there. Also I have tried to use it once and did nor because the holes are too small.
