People's Choice Beef Jerky - Sweet & Smoky - Cowboy Peppered 16 oz Bag

this was probably one of the best pieces of jerky i have ever eaten. yes it has some fat but that richness combines with a mountain of black pepper and a subtle sweetness makes absolute heaven in your mouth! Perfect texture as well, dry to the touch but not so hard that you struggle to bite a piece off. Beware tho, the garlic ginger is awful!!

I have tried a lot of different peppered jerky styles including sun dried paper thin, strips, sticks, and chunks. Found this brand on Amazon and I love it.Loads of flavor, coarse ground pepper, not dry nor too moist, not super thin nor super thick.In my opinion, good value for a 1-pound, resealable bag.The only "bad" thing is that I find it so tasty, I have to limit myself to 1 or 2 pieces at a time or I will easily eat half a bag in no time!

Jerky is a largely subjective field. This brand just isn't for me. I will comment on its salient features as I observed them:1. Soft. Fortunately, this isn't grocery-store soft, where it's almost pre-chewed and taffy-like. Still, I was expecting the old-school "leathery-chew" kind, which this didn't deliver on. It's not grossly soft; just not what I expected.2. Fatty. Many of the pieces had large nodes of fat in/on them. I didn't mind at all and actually liked the texture variation! I suspect many people would find it off-putting however. As I said: it's subjective.3. Sweet! This was an odd surprise and it is why I won't be ordering this again. These jerky were sickly sweet! It tastes almost like sucralose (it wasn't, but really it tasted like diet soda to me! ugh!). I buy independently-labeled food to get away from the sweeteners that are everywhere in mainstream food, and it was really disappointing.

I have ordered this several times in the past and this time I did not get the same item I ordered. instead of the peppered I received the Old Fashioned Original. All of the others were fairly tender and of good quality, but this order was overly dry, crumbling and falling apart, and had almost no flavor. Very disappointed this time.

Pros: Volume per Price, mouthfeel, pepperyCons: Too Spicy, too sweetI prefer the soy sauce tasting jerkies and this is not that. It is dry and black peppery, which is ideal for me, but the overall taste just isn't what I was looking for. Will likely not get again, but I'm sure many people will love it.

I read some of the review for Peoples Choice Beef Jerky and checked it out. I decided on the Old Fashioned Hot and Spicy flavor and what I liked besides the all natural and low-processed ingredients was that there is no added sugar. I am no jerky connoisseur, but I know what I like. This jerky is on the dry side, very flavorful and all natural. There is only 3 ingredients, beef, water and spices. That's it. I buy the big bag. I have now ordered a bag every other week since ordering the first bag. I have also been ordering the People's Choice Small Batch Cowboy Peppered,which I also love. It is more moist with great flavor, but it does have some sugar. I get both bags w each order and this is what I snack on everyday and would highly recommend this to everyone. Additionally, I get emails from the team at People's Choice and I can tell they care about putting out a good product. Good for them. In these times, it will certainly help them.

Excellent jerky great taste and not dry and tuff like most jerky

Omg! This is delicious like no other jerky. Lots of seasoning on it. It’s so good, best not in the fridge. If you put it in the fridge, you gotta let it go to room temperature to enjoy. Not too soft, not too hard, just right.
