safe to paint with food coloring?

Seeing your question made me curious about painting with food coloring and sent me straight to my kitchen with my new brushes in hand. Brush soaked up the coloring super quickly. Just as smooth of brush strokes. I figured the blue food color would stain the brush... nope! Easy clean! Can't even tell I've used the brush. The package does not say what material the brushes are made of just that they are made in China. That was fun. Thank you

Can you use paint thinner to clean these brushes

Hot water and soap cleans brush just fine but if you use oil paint I would use paint thinner
