Hi, just assembled this and can't get the handlebar stem to be solid without a bit of play if stood up and working hard on the bike, is this normal ?

Mine has a bit of play too. But seems to be ok even after many hundreds of km of use. I guess it will depend on how hard you pull on the handlebars while out of the saddle.

How do you know what level of resistance you are at?

When it gets too hard to pedal, you have too much resistance applied. Your own body is the best gauge.

The description says this bike has an adjustable seat to fit people approximately 4'5"to 6', has anyone just over 6 foot used it please?

Hi, I am 5-10 and had the seat fully adjusted, which then didn’t give me a good riding position. On the whole the bike was disappointing from day one , not at all a comfy ride and the noises from it was awful . So much so I got a refund . But there was no haggling from the company they refunded me straight away.

Can you cycle backwards on this bike?

Don’t think you could turn the saddle and handlebars but trying could take a few hours out of your day !
