OK. what is the job i wanted done? Well I use this not for macro focussing, but for macro zooming. If you have a fixed focal length macro lens then getting frame is of course damned difficult if you are on a tripod - so yes you adjust to a wider view than you want and crop later But that 'eats' pixels. SO using this allows a good bit of framing adjustment without the hassle of trying to moving the tripod. Excellent for this, just don't unlock the arca clamp too much - but it slides easily enough. Makes the macro life easier. Well that's me done but what about the d....mned item I hear you ask. Well simple obviously - but feels very solidly made because it is. All marked metrics are clear and smooth. All adjustments work fine and give confidence. Not a lot you can say about what is, in essence, a piece of machined metal. But it's a well made and useful piece! If you want this, and you do a lot of close macro with a fixed focal length I suggest you do, then buy with confidence.

Both the base rail and the top transverse grip are perfectly Arca Swiss compatible (tested on a genuine Arca-Swiss tripod head and a genuine Arca Swiss "Quick Release" plate). Very well manufactured and finished. The larger Allen key fits the base of the ¼" screw and so can be used to tighten it onto a camera or lens. The smaller Allen key enables removal, if desired, of the safety lock stop bolts that prevent the base rail from accidentally sliding out of the tripod head. Just right! Recommended!

To be honest I wasn't totally sure what this was when i bought it, i just no i needed a longer acr swiss for my macro and this would help but it does so much more. For one i can add another acr swiss to the end plate to switch oreven add additional equipment. I haven't been using it long but it very strong and sturdy and i'd say well worth the extra cash. I use it with my canon 600mm lens as well, it get for balancing on my gimbal, it makes life a lot easier and i feel more secure when handling the lens as well

Started off ok, thought it was initially good value and metal construction. However, the locking plate to adjust the modal distance hasn't exactly ever been smooth, hard to slide smoothly and accurately to exact desired position. Most recently however (used around 5-6 times) the locking bar for the arca mount only moves on one side rather than parallel resulting in almost impossible to remove the camera or mount it again. Need to look for something better quality

Haven't used yet other than setting it up in doors to familiarise myself with it,dont see an issue with it. Hopefully it will do what i would like to do.

Excellent piece of kit if you want to make a panoramo. This plus a tripod leveling base and a pan and tilt head is exactly want you need to make beautiful panoramos. This nodal rail is easy to use, well made and does the job perfectly

I initially didn't know which length to get. I bought the 200mm rail because other reviewers mentioned that it worked well with the Nikon 14-24mm and the Canon 16-35mm lenses. My intent was to use this with a Nikon 20mm f1.8G lens. However as you may have guessed by now the rail is too long and shows up in the lens' field of view. To be accurate it only shows up when using the camera vertically in an L-bracket, but that's how most people shoot panoramas. I'm guessing that it's not such a problem with zoom lenses since you can always use the lens at the long end. Otherwise the nodal rail looks well made so I'll be ordering the shorter 140mm rail from the same brand instead.

Ce rail fait le job et semble avoir une bonne qualité de fabrication. Le niveau à bulle est bon et la visse de serrage de l'Arca Suisse fonctionne sans accro. A voir sur la durée si les marques de la réglette (peinture blanche) ne s'efface pas .... Attention à la taille du rail que vous prenez. J'ai pris un rail de 200mm qui passe tout juste pour mon équipement Sony A68 + zoom 16-50: en grand angle il ne me reste 1 à 2 cm avant que le rail ne rentre dans le champ de mon zoom. Avec un autre couple boitier+Zoom peut-être que ça ne passe pas.
