Great Workout Shoe
I really like these shoes. They fit like a glove barefoot. I would need a larger size if I were wearing socks. I wear a 10D normally. I have a high arch. My right foot is slightly larger and the shoe is a little snug over the top with the laces loose. I would recommend trying these on in a store with the socks you intend to wear with them.I bought these for suspension training and wanted a shoe that fit snugly and would not slip on a variety of surfaces. I also wanted a light weight shoe with a low heel for stability. These shoes are perfect for this purpose. In fact, these shoes are so comfortable that I find myself wearing them everywhere. I may get a wider/larger size to wear with socks. The Vibram soles seem soft and sticky enough to wear on any surface, and I will probably use them boating and kayaking also.I no longer run because of arthritic knees. I suspect I would love these as a running shoe as long as I did not use a heel to toe style and kept a forefoot footplant. I think the softer sole would wear fast on concrete or asphalt but would be perfect for other surfaces.UPDATE: after two months I have found that these shoes have stretched enough that I can wear fairly thicksocks with them. I just adjust the lacing a bit when shifting from barefoot to socks and back. So I would now say these shoes fit true to size. I still feel like wearing them all the time. They are very comfortable.

Started as gym shoe, now I wear them everywhere.
For a cross training shoe, it’s pretty decent. Very light weight, minimal sole feels natural and the mesh design makes these shoes feel cool and breathable on the feet. The design of the shoe is like no other. Color options are okay but it seems New Balance has been releasing different color schemes over time. I first started off with a all BLUE pair (which I do not see on Amazon anymore), within two months I couldn’t help to purchase a second pair. I purchased a YELLOW/BLUE pair for $35 + tax at an NB Outlet store in Orlando, couldn’t be happier. My ideal workouts consist of weight lifting, circuits and cardio. Though, like other minimal sole made shoes, you may need to build a tolerance to these shoes as they may cause pain in the shins. I started with simple 10-15 min steady treadmill sessions, and then recently ran a 5k with no problems. These shoes met my needs as far as workout sessions go, but eventually found myself wearing these shoes almost everywhere I go. They look good and are comfortable. The only complaint I have is the durability. Within weeks, I noticed a piece of the sole separated from the bottom near the ball of the foot. It’s nothing serious, and fixable with shoe goo or epoxy. Also the threading could be better. On one shoe, I noticed the threading material started to fray and come apart near the top of the pinky toe area. I understand shoes wear out, but for the price quality could be a little better.Overall I’m happy with the shoe, and will be ordering more in the future for replacement.

Good cross-training shoe with a different feel from other athletic shoes
I have had these shoes for two weeks and so far I am pleased with the purchase. The shoes are extremely light and the mesh construction allows your feet to breathe very well which makes them an excellent workout/training shoe. The construction appears to be approximately 90-95% done with adhesives vs. stitching but the quality of the construction appears to be very good. Only time will tell how well they hold up. These are NOT running shoes as they have almost no cushion in the insoles. Do not expect the soles of these shoes to feel like other athletic shoes you may have purchased. I installed a pair of athletic gel insoles to give more cushion. The size of these shoes appears to run small so I would suggest purchasing a half size to one size larger than your normal shoe size. This is especially true if you plan to wear socks with the shoes and/or install an insole. I like the overall styling of the shoe as it is subdued and not “flashy” as with most current athletic shoe designes.

Great for Crossfit
I do Crossfit 4 days a week (not a Crossfit broculture bro though) and these are great. I was working out with Asics running shoes. While they were comfortable for running and box jumps, lifting in them was almost dangerous. Any sort of lifting done on the heel (deadlift, backsquat etc) was as unstable as a baby deer learning to walk for the first time. These provide a near barefoot feel white providing good arch support and some cushion. My lifts have become way more stable, and the incredible light weight of the shoes are great for anything agility based.I would highly suggest getting the model with the Vibram sole. It is thin but incredibly durable. I'm not sure how the other MX20 model without it would hold up if you're hard on shoes like I am.I have pretty wide feet. I typically order a size 12D,, with some brands like Adidas being too narrow. I ordered the 12EE and they fit great. They are snug around the heel and arch, but provide plenty of room on in the toe box without being too long. My feet sit totally flat on the insole, which is good.Pros:Incredibly lightweightBarefoot feel with good arch supportCushioned feel without being squishy or unstableVibram sole is incredibly durable and flexibleCons:At first the arch sat well on the inside of my foot, but felt too high on the outside. After a few days of working out I'm used to it/it has formed to my footNot a great long distance running shoe. Luckily I don't do that.UPDATE: I have had the shoes for three months and they still look great. No sole separation at all and they are as comfortable as ever. Really happy with my purchase thus far.UPDATE 2: Just hit the 6 month mark and still love these things. They remain comfortable, and still give great arch support. My lifts have gotten way stronger wearing these. The sole is still in good shape, considering they have gone through 4 workouts a week for 6 months. Couldn't be happier with them.
