I ordered the hardcover and its gorgeous.it had the paper thingy that you remove but theres no design on the book itself if that makes sense.dont really mind tho.condition is great.still havent read

I want my books to look perfect as I put them in my bookshelf as if they were jewels. This book arrived with nothing wrong so I kept it. I still have to read it, it’s on my to-be-read pile.

I love books that have relevant themes and the story itself was so refreshing to read as it was quite different. I was able to relate to Alice with her ambition and need for being great and leaving a mark/legacy on the world. This academic rivals YA novel honestly exceeded my expectations, although I felt Alice had no reason to hate Henry 😭. I really enjoyed Alice’s unusual powers and the lessons she learnt along the way. I loved the characters and Alice, Henry and Chanel are such a great trio! Henry was so cute and the things he did to prevent Alice from getting in trouble was honestly just 🫶. Also the fact that he senses her presence even when she’s invisible 🥹!! The book was very thought provoking with connections to privilege and society which made the it so much deeper and worth reading. I would definitely recommend reading this because it really is special and there are also many lighthearted moments. Such a great young adult read! @melsbookcorner on instagram

Book Spoiler: The book arrived in great quality and was cared for. So far I’m around 4 pages in and the story line is wonderful. The factor that her family is very dismissive of stuff that Alice does, or needs to go do. And I enjoy how her rival/enemy is already introduced in mention of the awards ceremony instead of it being waited out for being introduced later along in the book. We haven’t met Henry yet since it’s only the beginning, but the description of him seems.. interesting. She seems to notice everything perfect about him, and doesn’t recognize any of his flaws which is slightly odd. Yes, most people get introduced like they’re a flower in a garden, but mostly they come introduced with one flaw that’s in their garden. I’m waiting to see what his flaws could be, or maybe what secrets are hiding in him? As the whole story description is based off the factors of secrets, rumors, and lies. So the question is, what could he be hiding?
