Amazing! You need a .135 file from Allparts to make it fit right, and not bind in the nut.

I was struggling with my "dead" or "thumpy" B string on my 5-string bass, then I read on-line that a tapered string can make a difference. Although skeptical I decided to commit. Glad I did, my B string sounds a lot closer to the other 4 strings, and has a nice focus. I've only had it on for a month so it's hard to gauge longevity, but I remain hopeful. So far so good, highly recommended!

I found the tapered B to be clearer and more growly than the regular B. But it may not so different on other basses.
