Bearitos Organic Low Fat Traditional Refried Beans, 16 Ounce

I bought the fat free version of Bearitos Organic Refried Beans. The big pluses: #1 Organic, #2 non-GMO Project Verified, #3 ONLY 3 ingredients (water, organic pinto beans $ sea salt) and #4 contained in a BPA Free Can! #5 They Are Fat Free! I will try any product that’s Organic & non-GMO. They also contain no animal based ingredients so that makes them Vegan (a plus)! Now I would not say I’m an expert on Organic Refried Beans but compared to other brands this Bearitos brand does taste kind of bland (a minus) like they are not overly salted (a plus) but not overly seasoned with other spices (a minus). They used pinto beans and the taste is obvious. Some have posted comments that they changed the product and they are too “watery.” The first can had water on the top of the beans which were very compact in the can and the entire contents easily slid right out fully intact; another plus. I would buy this no oil brand of refried beans again. Rating: 4.5 Stars.Update 11/26/2019I’m beginning to think that being that the fact that these are not overly seasoned may actually be a plus. As stated above this product only contains 3 ingredients so adding some Organic Salsa or Organic Green Chilies makes them even tastier!Update 12/21/2019:Received my latest order today. Now that I think about it, this Fat Free 3 ingredients version just may be the best option for me. I can spice them up or eat them as is with my Homemade Organic Tacos or eat them as a side with an all Organic Salad.Update 02/09/2020:Received latest order today and will continue to order these again.Update 04/11/2020:Just received my latest order today. Lots of Organic Tacos and Taco Salad on the menu during Shelter In Place. I will continue to order this product again when needed!Update 12/06/2020:Received my latest Subscribe and Save order today! My low rating is for the awful condition of the cans I received. The beans are the best I’ve had, but I’ll never buy them from Amazon again. The cans were just trashed, dented and with labels partially on and partially off. 10 of the 12 cans were in this sorry state. Inexcusable.12/2020 update - Unable to buy these on a consistent basis at the local health food store, I ordered a case this week for this great price (often gouged by other sellers on Amazon), and I just received the order in perfect condition AND with the new label (and 2022 date). Very pleased. I love these beans.

9 of the 24 cans were BADLY dented. Other reviews complained of this. Wish I had heeded them. Bought anyway because these are the best canned refried beans out there, and for some reason all 3 stores by me who used to carry them have discontinued - perhaps b/c of dented cans!

2 adults & 3 kids in this house agreed this tastes very bad, very blend, even though it's healthier being organic and low sodium, but it needs some flavors or something, unless you add onions and sour cream to fill it up in a burrito wrap. But I didn't want it for this, I use frozen burritos, I wanted to whip it in a sandwich bread with a slice of cheese as we use to do with other brands, will have to get back to my old brand even though it's not low sodium. :/

Trying to find refried pinto beans without onion and garlic is near impossible! These are very good and super happy they are organic AND non gmo verified. I'll keep my monthly subscription for sure.

I love refried beans. These beans are not found in our local grocery store, so I buy them from Amazon. Best refried beans for me. Very little fat, great taste, and healthy.

Bought these during the pandemic (A vegetarian needs their protein). Needs salt, but otherwise a very respectable canned refried beans. I'm glad none of my cans shipped dented which has been an issue with canned goods being shipped from Amazon in the past for me..

These are my favorite refried beans! Whole Foods used to carry them locally and I was devastated when they stopped. Thank goodness they're available on Amazon.
