When fitted whats the offset distance from the side of the pole to the wall? I need to clear gable end tiles which sit proud of the wall an inch or so

When I put my pole into the bracket the inside of the pole was 7 inches from the wall. Plenty of space.

plate is not as described it is actually 100 x 40mm ???

That is correct, it still works fine though. Mine has been holding a 3-metre mast steady for over a year now and is still rock solid, even through last winters gales.

Would this hold a 20mm tube?

Yes no problem my aerial pole is 20mm and it holds it securely and I use it outdoors no movement at all
