Worked for my application no more rattle noise

Worked well, would purchase again.
Work well to stabilize my rack that I used in my hitch on the back of the camper. Also serves a second purpose in that it will discourage people from stealing your racks off the back of the vehicle vehicles. You’re going to need a wrench to get in there to loosen it up.

A must have.
A must have. I don't know why every hitch receiver doesn't come with one. I put on upside down, too long on my car and u-bolts would hit. Easier to tighten the bolts that way too.

A simple, inexpensive solution
I just bought a utility trailer and am using the receiver hitch on my car for the first time. It was really noisy on the short drive home, my temporary fix was to wrap some duct tape around the hitch shank, which worked, but made it hard to insert and remove the hitch. This hitch tightener was the least expensive solution I could find, and it works. Mine came with two types of nuts, plain and "airplane nuts" with a plastic insert that works as a locking device in addition to the lock washers supplied. I guess you have a choice, I went with the airplane nuts. It didn't come with instructions, so here's what I figured out: first loosely assemble it, then slide it on the shank of your hitch. Be sure you put the plate on correctly, as shown in their photos, you could put it on upside down or backwards, or... both. Then slide the hitch into the receiver and insert your pin as usual. Slide the hitch tightener as far toward your vehicle as it will go, and then tighten the nuts evenly. Try to shake your hitch, it should be rock solid. To remove your hitch, just loosen the nuts a little, and it should come off. Next time you use it, you'll only have to tighten it a little as it will already be close. In the user uploaded photos you will see some where the guy installed it backwards, and he complains that it bent. Look at the seller's photos, so you don't make that mistake.

Looks like it's going to work
For the money you can't beat it but I have to be honest I haven't used it and will update this review when I do so

Took the rattle away
As advertised

Using it to mount a DIY rock guard in place while it also steady's the hitch. As with other reviews, the rubber insulator/cover should be ditched, under mounting pressure it squeezes out and then you can get play. Just don't put it on at all. The color option is a nice touch

Worked perfectly as it should.

Solid build but not super premium as expected. Works well enough, however the rubber is totally useless and was squished and ripped to shreds after the first use. Not even sure how anyone thought that would work when you've got the tongue weight of a trailer squishing the living piss out of it and torquing against it. Maybe it's just for show and you're not actually supposed to use it?? Also it arrived with a scratch on the paint which is clearly going to be the first place it'll start rusting/corroding now. But I don't have time to piss around with returns so I'm sucking this one up cuz it's not that big a deal. Finally, the lock washers/nuts are great but scratch the paint off defeating the purpose. Not really avoidable short of just making it out of stainless steel. So I get what you pay for. Overall, it's good enough for the girls I go with.
