Massive buttons
Typing messages on the physical keypad brings back memories of simpler times. The buttons are massive and give a satisfying click with every press, making dialing numbers incredibly straightforward. Dropping it on the concrete patio barely left a scratch on the tough plastic casing. The hinge snaps shut with real force, ending calls instantly without needing to check the screen. The speaker volume goes incredibly loud, ensuring I never miss a call even when working near noisy machinery. Navigating the menus feels clunky compared to modern touch screens, requiring many button presses to find simple settings. The battery lasts for days on a single charge when only making basic calls. Setting up the emergency button took reading the manual thoroughly to ensure it triggered the correct numbers. The outer screen showing the time and caller ID saves opening the device constantly. Holding it against the ear feels perfectly contoured compared to flat glass slabs.

Decent rugged work phone for on site
This phone is exactly as the title suggests, rugged and basic, it very much reminds me of the sort of phones I had 15-20 years ago but in a much more rugged body. I can see why phones such as this still have there place, either as an emergency phone or if working on site this is a great work phone option rather than risking your ~ยฃ1k smartphone. Unlike some other cheap basic phones I have tried this supports 4G rather than being stuck at 3G which is in the process of being switched off here in the UK. Connectivity is good with reception on a par with much more expensive phones. The flip design is very simple with good large buttons, and although the screen is clear enough it could have been larger with less black space around it which would have allowed for larger text on screen. Battery life is good, just like it used to be all those years ago when phones were simple. Priced at ยฃ90 at time of ordering this does feel like a lot for such a basic phone, even though it is very robust.

Easy to use
Iโve been using this AGM M8 flip phone as more of a simple everyday backup/secondary device, and itโs been surprisingly practical for what it is. It feels refreshingly straightforward compared to modern smartphones, with big buttons and a clear layout that makes calling and texting quick without any distractions. What stands out most is how loud the speaker is. Itโs genuinely hard to miss calls, even in noisy environments, which gives it a sense of reliability when I just need something that โworksโ without fuss. The fast dial buttons are also handy and make it easy to reach key contacts without scrolling or searching. It definitely feels built for durability rather than refinement. The rugged design gives some confidence when carrying it around, especially outdoors or in situations where I donโt want to risk my main phone. Itโs not sleek, but thatโs not really the point of it. Overall, itโs a solid no-nonsense feature phone. Itโs not something Iโd use as my main device long-term, but as a reliable backup or travel phone, it does its job really well.

Poor quality
I really wanted to like this phone felt like a smartphone detox and remember flip phones fondly, however I don't think I've ever had one as bad as this considering this phone is aimed at an elderly market it's not very user friendly it arrived with the main language being set to German the instruction book is printed so small that it's almost impossible to read. The couple of people that I called to try this out said that it sounded like I was underwater very muffled. And as for the camera I appreciate its only 2 megapixel but I've had plenty of Nokia's that will take a good picture this is totally unusable to the point where you have a job to recognize what you've photographed. Really really disappointed and sending it back.

Solid flip phone for seniors, digital detox and basic comms
A neat little flip phone that will suit elderly users, anyone wanting a device that just covers the basics, or perhaps students whose schools don't allow smartphones. It's one of the more attractive feature phones I've seen and has that old-school charm that's become surprisingly appealing again. It's simple to use, with large buttons, a clear bright screen and loud, easy-to-hear call and ringtone volume. Battery life is particularly impressive and puts most modern smartphones to shame. The phone feels rugged and well-built in the hand, and it also claims an IP68 waterproof rating, although I haven't been brave enough to test that myself. Despite the chunky design, it's still fairly compact and comfortable to carry slipping into a bag or pocket with no issues. There's a programmable SOS button for emergencies, which will be especially useful for older users, and the included charging dock makes charging much easier than fiddling around with cables. Calls and texts work exactly as they should, while the lack of social media, apps and endless notifications makes it ideal as a digital detox device. The flip design still has a certain retro cool factor too. Younger users who've never owned a flip phone may even find it a bit of a novelty. The instructions aren't great, but to be fair I barely needed them. The camera certainly won't impress anyone looking for quality photos, but it does have that grainy, low res look that seems to be on trend these days. The menus aren't quite as intuitive as the classic Nokias, but they're perfectly usable once you've spent a few minutes exploring them. At nearly ยฃ90, the price feels a little steep for what is essentially a basic feature phone. Even so, it's a robust and reliable device that does the fundamentals well. If you're looking for a straightforward phone for calls and texts, a device for an elderly relative, or simply a break from smartphone distractions, this is a solid option. The camera and price are its biggest weaknesses, but otherwise it does exactly what it's designed to do.

Great
I think that this is a great phone. It arrived quickly and well packaged. I ordered this as a bit of a detox for my son who gets so easily distracted by all the trappings of his smart phone. This is the perfect solution - he can still do the basics and important things on this like access messages and calls but not get distracted by the Internet. The phone is so easy to use but I will say if you're buying this for someone who finds technology a challenge, it would be best for you to show them how it works as the instructions are printed in such a small font it's very difficult to read them. The phone has a good sized screen which is very clear. The battery life is brilliant too. It feels good and sturdy. The flip design is fab, my son really likes that. Overall, it's proving to be a big hit here so far!

Okay, but practically no instructions
Due to cognitive impairment, father struggle with his smartphone. I set this up to hopefully function as a landline and a mobile feature phone. Yes, he can listen to music on it and take photos but basically he just wants it as a phone. I will just mention that someone said they can look at WhatsApp on it โ you can't. You can't download apps. In a nutshell, the instructions are rubbish. I had to ask AI how to do a lot of of the functions. Sometimes it was correct. However, once it's set up, it functions quite well. I would say that if you set it up for a senior they might do well with this, but don't just give them the box. Pros: It's rugged, it's waterproof, it's chunky and easy to hold, the numbers are nice and big, the screen is big and bright, it's got memory functions, pa can take it round to the corner shops with him, the ring is loud. I can set this up in its cradle, as a faux landline on the telephone table. Useful tip for seniors: keep it permanently plugged in on a timer so it recharges itself. You can program the SOS button on the side to your phone number or emergency services. The owner cannot get the SIM card out, cover it in hand cream and replace it backward--which is always a bonus. Cons: There are practically no instructions, and what there are a tiny so that I you needed the magnifying glass. It doesn't actually tell you what some of the navigation buttons are for, although it is fairly intuitive. You can't switch off the annoying clunk as it closes. You only have two choices of ringtone. Both annoying. Tips: The on switch is the RED switch. And you have to press it for quite some time before the thing comes on. You have to unscrew the screw on the back of the phone AND pry it open to get the battery in. You can switch off the annoying key stroke noise by going into the Settings menu and switching it to silent. 1 Go to Menu > Settings > Sound. 2 Scroll down until you see Keypad tone (or Keytone). 3 Select it and switch it to Off or Silent. 4 Press OK to confirm. To set the memory functions, you need to go into settings and find Speed dial. 1 Press the main Menu button and navigate to Settings. 2 Scroll down and select Speed Dial. 3 Choose the button you want to change (M1, M2, or M3). 4 Select Edit, type in the new name and number, and hit Save. This is okay โ it's doing the job, but I didn't find the set up as easy as I would've liked.
