Better still, the nifty lead containers have an easy-open feature that allows just 1 or 2 leads to shake out, even if you drop the container like I did.2. Being clear, the heavy plastic container tells you at a glance what's left.3. 4B, 0.7mm leds are a shade darker than a #2 pencil, and can easily be made darker still by just pressing a little harder because the lead is softer, as well.4. Being soft means they are easier to erase.In summation, these are as close as I have found to the prefect lead for my mechanical pencils, which I use instead of ballpoints for nearly everything except signs or letters.Why?1. These lead refills are great, I find they don't snap easily and fit well in my pencil holders (I use Pentel pencils). The lead color is dark, which makes for great contrast when writing or drawing. I can read my notes without a problem. There is also a good range of sizes and grades of lead from this brand, all reasonably priced. I'm still working through my second refill so these should last you a very long time.The lead's container is also pretty sturdy, I feel comfortable throwing it in my bags without much fuss because it won't break or open up by accident. So that's another reason to get these, if you write or draw a lot on the go.

Recommended lead for the second Pentel pencil (not at all happy with the first) I ordered And thicker. Used it today for the first and I really liked the fact it reminded me of writting (only use pencil for this one report once a week) with a pen.

Best pencil writing experience I've had. These are nearly as dark as a pen and yet still easily erases. I used to regularly bounce around different writing utensils, but now I only ever use my 0.9 mechanical with these. By far my favorite pencil lead.

Whelp no longer needing my old pencils mechanical only these feel really good to write with as far as 2B goes and as a traveling DnD player it is really nice to have a single dispenser to take with me and they are really compact!
