These plastic tags are easy to write on but in my experience seed variety names that I write on plastic don’t last well through the season. The solution a family member used was a label printer. I highly recommend this method! I needed to invest in a small label printer, but it works very well on these markers, one side of which is smooth and the other side of which has a slight texture. The printer labels that were put on these markers made it through and entire season and are now doing very well through a second season! The marker included was a little dried up in my order, though I appreciated that a marker was included at all. Writing on the smooth side of the markers is perfectly possible and it will be legible and it’s easy. But in my experience the weather gets the better of the writing pretty quickly if being used outside in a garden.

The felt marker inside the kit is not very helpful, but works well with a permanent sharpie. Very good for planting needs. Would buy again. They could put in a better marker, so I took away one star.
