A Masterful Blend of Humor, Heart, and Complexity
As an avid reader with a discerning taste for well-crafted literature, I can confidently say this book is brilliant. It ticks every box and deserves a perfect score. The story follows Emma and Justin, two individuals with a peculiar "dating curse" who connect over DMs after relating to each other's romantic misfortunes. Their plan to break their curses by dating each other quickly evolves into something deeper and more complex than either anticipated. What sets this book apart is its complex, layered characters. Emma and Justin are beautifully crafted, with depth and nuance that make them feel incredibly real. The book explores how parents can unknowingly impact their children's lives, adding emotional weight to the narrative. Despite tackling heavy themes, the story is peppered with joyful moments and genuine humor. The evolution of Emma and Justin's relationship feels organic and believable, making it easy to root for them. The concept of two strangers bonding over shared misfortune before meeting in person is both unique and captivating. The author masterfully weaves together complex emotions, family drama, and personal growth. The epistolary elements add an extra layer of intimacy to the storytelling. This book is both entertaining and impactful, with twists and turns that left me emotionally invested. It's a story that will stay with me for a long time, showcasing the author's ability to create characters that feel like old friends. Also these characters live with you - or they did with me - for some time. I dont often find that kind of experience often...even if she does tend to go on sometimes, she did everything else right in character development. In short, if you're looking for a romance that offers more than just a love story - one that delves into personal growth, family dynamics, tons of humor, and the complexities of timing in relationships - this book is a must-read. It's a perfect example of how romance literature can be both deeply entertaining and profoundly moving.

Perfect Summer Read
I read this book at the beginning of the summer and coming back months later to write a review because it has stuck with me. This story is heartwarming, funny, raw, and a tear jerker all in one.Emma is a travel nurse who took an assignment at a hospital in MN to be close to a man she met on Reddit about naming his dog after his friend. After texting and video chats, she decided to take the assignment near him to break a curse they've both been dealing with. The curse is that once they date someone, they go on to find and marry their soulmate. Emma spends the summer with Justin and her toxic mother who ends up living with her landlord on the same property. Justin is perfect but Emma has a lot of personal growth that she needs to do before she can commit.I loved the storyline. Again, I had a rollercoaster of emotions reading this book. I laughed out loud and was hysterically crying. I wish I could read this book again for the first time. Perfect summer read!

Best Book I’ve Read in a While
Honestly, incredibly written. This is worth every second, the story is fully dimensional with the characters and story line. It’s realistic and fun, it feels human (does that make sense? Lol). Loved this so much as I also have a similar situation as the MMC Justin with my siblings so it was especially heart warming. Thank you Abby Jimenez!!

Engaging and different
The title doesn't fit the book but it is a good summer read. The storyline is refreshingly unique where Jimenez grabs the reader right from the first page. The editor's subject "sensitivity warning" before the first chapter was unnecessary. I kept expecting to reach a disturbing "sensitive" area but the subjects referenced were very homogenized and not note worthy. The two main characters Emma and Justin are well developed and I rooted for them both. However, the later part of the book wanned in parts. By the middle of the second half of the book, Emma's issues were too repetitive and annoying at times. The last quarter of the book was not as expected. It was almost as though Jimenez lost interest in writing and wrapped up the story too easily in too few pages.Overall it was a good and fast read. I recommend it for those looking for something engaging and different. Jimenez is a good writer and will be reading another one of her books soon.

Buckle up!
Just for the Summer was such an engaging and heartfelt read! From the start, it pulled me in and kept me entertained through most of the story. The only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is because there were moments where the pacing slowed, and it felt like it dragged just a bit. That said, I truly appreciate the depth the author brought to the story, it’s clear they took time to let the characters grow naturally, and by the end, I could really see and feel that evolution. The chemistry between Emma and Justin was absolutely incredible. Justin’s witty, charming personality made him instantly lovable, and his unwavering patience and affection for Emma showed just how well-matched they were. Their relationship felt genuine and full of heart. This was such an easy read, but one that still brought out all the emotions, I laughed, I cried, and I found myself rooting for these characters the whole way through. A perfect pick if you're looking for something romantic, emotional, and refreshingly real.
