The salt has a strong sulfur taste but it’s actually kind of addictive too. Perhaps there are minerals in this salt my body needs. I would recommend to anyone looking for purple salt.

I watched a documentary about bamboo salt on YouTube , so after searching it I bought this one. At first, I just ate a piece, it was salty and smell is kind of strong. So I looked for a way to eat, it said to dissolve it in warm water and drink it or goggle it or make it the powder and put it in foods, so I tried these way. First time the smell is not that good but after eating it about a week, I got used to it and got much better. If it’s difficult to just eat, I recommend my way. The bamboo salt is good to eat regularly so I will continue to use this one for my health. I will buy this again and recommend it to my friends.

It doesn't taste that bad to me because the taste does feel a lot like baked eggs. Most people who used to go to korean spa will remember the taste as appealing. Its pricey but it has a lot of little crystalized salt inside and you only take 2-3 a day so it will go for awhile. At least, it helps me with hydration and salt intake while I do 20 hour Intermittent fasting.

I like the umami flavor of the salt. It took me a minute to get use to the umami taste. It had been more than10 years since I traveled through Asia. I ordered the crystals and typically dissolve a piece or two in my mouth. A little is also good in soups. I add a little bamboo salt to my ramen, while decreasing the amount of the salty ramen packet. The bamboo salt adds a slight savory flavor. A little goes a long way. I will try other dishes in the future. I have read some folks use it with sashimi.

Well this stuff is considered a delicacy and is created through a fairly complex hand process that supposedly justifies the cost but, honestly, this salt tastes like rotten eggs.
