Why would someone choose the Flash versus the Pro?

Hi, great question. The V7 is 16.5 x 7.5, with a 5.3 handle and the Flash is 16.2 x 7.75 with a 5.4 handle. In the online pictures, they look more similar, but in person, it is a lot more noticeable that the Flash has a smaller face. The intention was to make a non-elongated paddle that was highly maneuverable and balanced. The aerodynamic tip helps to lower the swing weight. If you play with both, the Flash is noticeably faster, even though it weighs similar to the V7. It's a great paddle but may lack the reach that some players really desire.

grip circumference of 7.7 inches seems insanely huge. Is the grip on this like a coffee cup?

The width of the Flash is 7.7 inches. The handle circumference for all Vatic Paddles is 4.25 or 4 1/4. Handle length variies a little but not much.
