WHY is it so freakishly difficult to find an Amazon review to edit? Most of the help is either out of date or misses important steps. Whoever planned this aspect in Amazon seems to have had a serious case of dsylexia or some kind of obfuscation disease when trying to put related items together. Update: Heard back from the company. While not yet resolved, it is good enough to restore the rating to 5 stars. For reasons unknown, the unit started to work properly again when I started on the process of uninstalling it for possible return (it is still within the return window). ====== (updated back to 5 stars, but I prefer not to delete content, but let it stand) Update: Dropping to one star. The unit developed a problem. SimPure have not responded at all to requests for assistance in addressing or diagnosing the issue. Unit is unusable at present. ============= We bought the unit that provides pure clean water with no minerals added back. In my testing of it, it delivered on that. The TDS reading was at the lowest limit that my measuring unit is capable of. Installing anything in a kitchen cabinet isn't much fun. This isn't particular to this unit in that regard. It may take quite a while to get it all done, although it is not intrisically difficult. The manual suggests placing the unit within the sink structure. I placed it on a corner of our kitchen island where it is easily accessible from multiple aspects. This turned out to be a good choice for another reason. Water delivery is slow. A cup or kettle can be put on the counter surface, and doesn't need to be held while it is filling. The unit makes noise. To prevent the cabinet from acting as a sounding board, I put some padding underneath the unit and between the fixture to the wall. This results in a level of noise that is useful to let you know it is running. Without the padding, it is rather noisy. As shown, the unit doesn't have a cover for the top. I would have preferred something to have been included that protected the top. The threaded part of the faucet was only just long enough to go through the tile and wooden base. I did not install the upper trim washer, only the rubber one. It looks fine that way. To avoid cracking the tile, a tiny, vertical, pilot hole was drilled between the 4 corners of the tiles. Then a conical shaped abrasive bit was used to wear away the enamel surfaces of the 4 tiles to about 1/2" diameter. Finished off with a combination of masonary and wood bits being careful to ensure it was vertical. No cracks, unit stands straight, all looks good. It needs an electrical supply. You could hook it up to the existing dishwasher outlet with a simple adapter, but probably better with its own outlet. Water without minerals does not have the sweet taste of water with minerals. Totally pure water tastes fine to me. As we use water primarily for tea, coffee, and cooking, it would not have been an issue anyway. We can always provide bottles of water for those that prefer the mineral taste. All in all, it turned out well, and is much more convenient and better performing than the previous filtration. No complaints or problems reported by any other of the household. They adapted to it straight away.

I’ve had this system for about two and a half years now, so I figured it was finally time to leave a review. It’s worked really well the entire time, and most importantly, the water tastes great. One of the reasons I chose this model is the alkaline (remineralization) filter, which adds minerals back into the water after the reverse osmosis process. Just keep in mind that because of this, you should not expect a zero TDS reading. That’s actually the point. I personally didn’t want zero-TDS water and prefer having the minerals added back in. I also really like the tankless design. My previous RO system had a storage tank, and I much prefer having the water filtered on demand rather than sitting in a tank. This system does have a pump, so it needs to be plugged in, but that wasn’t a big deal at all with my setup. One tip after changing the filters a few times: I’ve found it much easier to take the whole unit off the wall, lay it on its side, and change the filters that way rather than trying to unscrew and replace them while it’s mounted. Overall, we’ve been really happy with it. Great-tasting water, reliable performance, and after over two years it’s still going strong. Highly recommended.

After one week of use, I’d like to share my experience and explain why I chose this particular reverse osmosis system over others. There were two main reasons for my decision: 1. Filter flexibility (ALK to T33 option). This model allows you to replace the Alkaline (ALK) filter with a T33 carbon filter if needed. I wasn’t completely sure whether I would prefer alkaline water long term. With this system, I can simply swap one filter and get 0 ppm water if I choose. That flexibility was very important to me. 2. NSF certification. This system has internationally recognized NSF certification, which can be easily verified on the official NSF website. Unlike some brands that only pay for one-time testing, this certification provides ongoing credibility. For me, that really matters when it comes to water quality and safety. Packaging & Installation: Everything arrived well packaged and protected. The box includes many additional fittings for different installation scenarios — various tubing sizes and even the option to connect the system to a refrigerator. The instructions are clear and detailed. Installation took about 1.5 hours. The most difficult part was drilling a hole in the countertop for the faucet. I had to buy a diamond drill bit for that. My advice: buy a good-quality bit and watch a YouTube tutorial before drilling. I was surprised to learn that: 1. You need to keep the drill bit wet while drilling. 2. You should start drilling at a 45-degree angle. The unit itself is compact and doesn’t take much space under the sink. Water Quality Results Before installation, my tap water measured 176 ppm. After installation, it measured 70 ppm, because the ALK filter adds beneficial minerals back into the water. After one week, I performed a 14-parameter water test with the following results: Hardness: 50 Chlorine: 0 Iron: 0 Copper: 0 Nitrate: 0 Nitrite: 0 Calcium: 0 Total Chlorine: 0 Fluoride: 0 Alkalinity: 40 Carbonate: 180 pH: 7.5 Lead: 0 Bacteria: 0 Overall, the results are very reassuring. What I Would Improve I would like to see better filter replacement indicators. The current system for tracking filter life is not very informative. A clearer indicator or built-in reminder would improve the user experience. Overall Impression I am satisfied with this purchase. We drink this water daily, cook with it, and wash food with it. So far, the system performs as expected and gives me confidence in our water quality.

Changed Rating to one star. Should be ZERO stars. See update below original review. Without a tank to install, this was much quicker to install and takes up much less space. Flow rate is very good and because you don’t have to worry about a tank, it will keep it up forever. Water wastage is much less than previously owned RO unit as well. All around, great buy. —maybe not — Update: the unit was installed the middle of March when it was received and worked very well for 5 months. It was used to fill a 3 gallon water dispenser bottle on a daily basis. It stopped working at about 5 months (approximately 500 gallons filtered - not nearly as much as advertised) and I assumed it needed new filters so I replaced the three recommended filters (not the RO filter) and turned it back on and it still would not run. I turned the water off and on and unplugged the power a couple times and it still would not work. The next morning I tried again and it worked like it was supposed to, no idea why. Continued to work for 3 weeks and then stopped again. Unplugged and plugged it in again and it filled another bottle. Not sure what is wrong with it but it seems to be glitchy. As nice as it started, I don’t know if I would recommend it to others the way it is acting. Update11/22/2024: It has had an issue almost from the start, but after only three months it works less than half the time I want to use it. Continually turning it off and on to get it to operate is getting very frustrating. Amazon could not do anything because it was after the 30 days when I contacted them. The manufacturer was worthless and now I am left with a useless RO system.

See Update Below Original Review: Why is there no option to ask questions about this product like there is for most other products on Amazon? So I have to ask my question in a review because their customer service rep said to just not use a gasket, which we know is going to cause major leaking. The Sim Purewater water valve assembly will not seal to our under sink cold water shutoff with the provided gasket. Gasket collapses when nut is tightened and falls into the hole, because the assembly nut bottoms off on our shutoff valve before the nut can make a seal. Our cold water shut-off shank is too short for the Sim Pure valve assembly. If there was a thicker gasket, or a thinner water valve nut on the assembly, it might work. The gaskets are not compatible with our Shark shut-off valve nor the other two valve brands we have in the shop. Anyone have a solution? Update 6/14/23: We removed the thicker and more rigid packing washer from a new hose bib assembly that we had on hand and installed it in the SIM Pure water valve assembly in place of the thin, flimsy washer gasket that came with it. This worked perfectly to seal the Sim pure water valve assembly onto our cold water shut off valve under the sink. Additionally, the directions state and show to push the Sim water dishcharge tube all the way into the sink drainage pipe; however, the assembly that attaches this tube to the sink drain pipe does not allow the Sim tube to go through the assembly into the pipe (it will only snap into the Sim attachment assembly,) so we had to drill out the assembly hole to make it large enough for the Sim discharge tube to pass through into the sink drain pipe. Just don’t drill all the way into the “snap in” tube receiver on the opposite side of the assembly. Another reviewer pointed this out (thank you.) If you are not super handy around the house, have not regularly done other plumbing projects around the house successfully, and are not a patient problem-solver, we highly recommend that you choose a different system to purchase or that you hire a plumber. We found the technical help available by phone with Sim Pure to be useless. This install was very frustrating and we almost returned the product. However, once installed, we are extremely happy with the system. It is space saving, quieter than expected, the water flow is excellent and much faster than expected, and the drinking water is crisp and delicious. We only needed to do a water flush for 20 minutes and the water smelled and tasted great. However, we do already have a 3-stage whole house filtering system plus a water conditioner where the water comes into the house from the well. Rated four stars instead of five for faulty engineering parts making the install very frustrating and the lack of adequate help via the Sim Pure help line.

Got this for my parents for Christmas and they love it! Helps to eliminate micro plastics from your life(because they are everywhere and most present in bottled water). Works great and installed super easy! I would recommend this buy.

I purchased this system close to 1.5 years ago and I have to say I love the quality of water it produces, the simplicity to replace filters as needed, the tankless feature, and the efficiency in term of waste water versus drinkable water which is 1.5:1 respectively. My city water is TDS is around 270ppm and after I used the simpure T1-400UV, it reduced it to 0ppm for the first 6 months then after it remained steady around 10-14ppm after 1.5 years and on. This is extremely clean per RO standards which is usually around anything less than 100ppm. The tankless feature has the major benefit of saving a ton of under-sink storage space which is already limited from the start. However tankless feature requires the user to flush the system every time for 1-2 minutes if it has not been used for an extended amount of time since the "still dirty" water is mixing with the clean water in the tank due to equilibrium. For the first 1-2 minutes of flushing, the TDS of my water is 50-120ppm then after 2 minutes it stays at 13ppm (1.5 years age of filters). If you always want instant clean water than a RO system with tank is needed. This system can produce unlimited clean RO water on demand once set up without running out as systems with tanks do. After 1.5 years of heavy use, I encountered an issue where the system turns off intermittently. I contacted Simpure and they were very helpful and accommodating even though my 1 year warranty has passed. It turns out from sending them videos that my control box was faulty which they sent me a new one and I replaced (5 minute job) and the system works like it was brand new again. Ellen was the Simpure rep that reached out to me and she was very patient and understanding. Very appreciative of her helpfulness and follow ups. Installing this RO system if very DIY if you watch videos on youtube. Or hire a professional which would cost $$$. Using this system has definitely eliminated plastic/aluminum waste from my home and the water quality is far superior to bottled water now per TDS measurements. Can use RO water for cooking, fish tanks, or carbonated water machines. Below you can see my city water which is around 270ppm , SimPure reduces this number to 13ppm which is extremely clean water. After installation it sits flush against the wall so you have plenty of space under the sink still. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to get this if they are looking for a efficient space saving RO system.

It is an impressive system. I especially like the pump which greatly increases the water flow. Reverse Osmosis is as good as it gets for purifying water, but it is known to be a slow process. The pump appears to fix that. The unit also looks sharp when it is installed. Please see my photo. I never thought I would show off under our sink. :) It is a bit heavy in the cramped conditions under a sink, and it needs connections to continuous power (disposal power won't work because it is on a switch), the drain, water, the new faucet, and optionally a pressure tank and a refrigerator. Given all that, I think they did about as well as they could with the design. I connected all the tubes and nothing leaked at all. That is rare for me. Just be sure to push the tubes all the way in. Those connectors for tubes are helpful. So overall, the unit takes some time to install, but that is reasonable due to what it does and all its needed connections. It worked well the first time I turned on the water and plugged it in. I ran it awhile to flush it out according to the instructions, but then started using it and it has worked well ever since. The motor hums when water is turned on and a little after, but it is pretty quiet. The Alkaline water has a different taste than our other non-alkaline bottled water, but it tastes like it should and it is supposed to be good for us. I also learned that by switching out the last filter, we could change the taste to what we are more used to. For now, we are sticking with alkaline. I am really glad I bought it and got it installed. I put this off for too long. I bought the pressure tank too, which is needed to add water for a refrigerator, but it adds capacity for any install. I'd suggest getting it too. We are looking forward to canceling our bottled water service, with the big 5 gallon bottles. Thus far, it looks like the bottled water won't be needed.

Just installed it with my husband yesterday. Was not complicated to hook up at all. We didn’t have enough space under our sink so we just used the cabinet next to it and ran the lines through a hole. We had zero issues with the install it was fairly easy with two people. I bought a water tester and the water tested successfully at 0 PPM after I ran it for half an hour as the instructions said. I checked the tap water too just to make sure my device was working and it tested at 36 PPM. The pump is extremely quiet in my opinion, with kids in the house I don’t even notice it unless I open the cabinet door intently. The side faucet it comes with it nice looking and slender. Overall I’m very happy so far with it and I’ll have to continue to test the PPM as the filters age, the little device is only $10 its probably worth getting for maintenance purposes.

I’ve now been using this product daily for 2 years and using water testing devices to verify quality. This product is very good, works well, and produces pure, clean, great tasting water.

I am definitely not used to the taste of the water and water measurements are harder to do with this system as it is adding minerals back into the water. (Tempted to order that post carbon filter as I hear others have contemplated this to get closer to a 0 PPM reading). Also, one BIG issue I found with this system was that the spout was NOT deep enough a length for my countertop... luckily I was replacing an older system so I used that spout. It should come with an extension at least. Other notes... it's not noisy per say but pump does make noise. Filters and hardware are straightforward enough for most DIY'rs. Pressure gauge display is a nice touch.
