Solid floor lamp, white (neither yellow nor blue) light, very reachable/responsive company
I bought my first Trond LED 30W 5500k (Halo X) floor lamp in January 2018 and it worked perfectly for about one week, then stopped working. I contacted the company/seller of the lamp and they were instantly responsive. A few troubleshooting tips determined the unit had a defect and Trond sent out a replacement immediately. About the lamp itself: The quality of light is excellent - neither the yellowish warm, nor the bluish cool - the Trond is a clean white light that illuminates a room about the same as a 100 watt torchiere lamp. I prefer the Trond styling as the light produced is aimed directly to the ceiling and is glare-free. The controls are "soft touch" - and easy to use. I did read that some users have a few difficulties with the touch controls. The trick is to gently touch the minus and hold until the dimming desired is achieved. Likewise, gently touch the plus until the desired brightness is achieved. There is a very low dim and a very bright "high" setting. If you press and hold the on/off button until it flashes, the Trond will turn off automatically after 30 minutes.has passed. The base of the Trond is a solid, heavy disc - and is sturdy. The pieces screw together smoothly. Extremely simple assembly. Wonderfully simplistic design. And - the company that makes it is very reachable and very responsive to any and all issues that may arise. I bought a second Trond for my living room. I use both Tronds for a wide variety of needs: overall general light, reading, dimmed down but on when I'm out of my home so I don't come home to a total darkness, full on brightness for cleaning. Prior to purchase, I compared the Trond with similarly styled floor lamps - I went with Trond due to the hue of light (5500k), the style, and the height. Highly recommend the Trond to anyone looking for this style lamp.

Look great, work great, and assembly is simplicity defined. Well pleased!!
Having had several brands of torchiere floor lamps, these Trond units could not be any more simple to assemble. Took me about 5 minutes to assemble both of them. The lamps (we got 2) light up our recliner end of or 14 ft. X 22ft. den bright enough for either one of us to read a book with fine print (we're 67 & 68). For watching TV or visiting with guests, one of them puts out plenty of light, which bounces off our light beige walls and white ceiling. We have a daylight ceiling fan fixture in the center, and 2 daylight recessed fixtures over the fireplace hearth on one side, but unless we are reading, doing some sort of detail work in the center or on the TV end of the den, or looking for DVDs in the glass-door entertainment center the TV sits on, we don't need the other lights in the room if one or both of the Trond lamps are on. My wife LOVES the style of the lamps AND the light they provide (we have the black, daylight models). She can do needlework in her recliner with her lamp on it's brightest setting. The only thing I do not like, is that the "+" and "-" touch buttons are not lit, and with the lamps being black, we cannot actually see the "+" and "-" buttons, especially without glasses, unless the ceiling fan fixture or hearth lights are on. Those lights light up the lamp poles, and allow us to actually see the "+" and "-" perforated buttons. We have to remember where each is located, above the blue power lamp/on/off button. A minor point, and we pretty well have the location of the adjustment buttons committed to memory now, but the outlined "plus" and "minus" buttons would be much more visible on the black lamp poles if they were backlit with a blue LED as the "on/off" button is. That's it!! That's our ONLY complaint!! We LOVE our lamps!!

Stylish, Sturdy Lamp That Really Lights Up a Room
This lamp solved a problem for me; the dining room and kitchen light switches are on the other side of the room when I walk in the front door. So I stumble around in the dark trying not to hit anything. But I discovered that a switch by the front door controlled an outlet in the corner of the room. I installed this lamp over there and set it to medium brightness. Perfect! The integrated wiring inside the sections is simply brilliant. Much easier to put together plus I have the option of changing the height of the lamp. The tilting head is really helpful too. Using all 4 sections the lamp is still very stable. This lamp can be very bright or barely noticeable with the 5 brightness settings. I can easily light up a room that is about 250 SF. Since it is indirect light I do not feel it is very harsh. I left off one star because despite claims to the contrary by the manufacturer, there is a bit of a delay when I flip the wall switch. The light does not come on instantly. I would say the delay is about 1 to 2 seconds. Could be the wiring in my 40-year old condo, however. Otherwise, I am very happy with this lamp.

This lamp is brilliant! (Pun only partially intended.)
I'd had mixed luck finding decent, reasonably-priced floor lamps for my two-bedroom apartment. Everything I looked at was either too fussy in design, too difficult to assemble, too shoddy in construction, too expensive, or all of the above. One day on Amazon, I saw this Trond lamp and decided to take a chance, and that's when my luck changed. After I got the first one, I put it together, tried it out and promptly ordered three more. These lamps are perfect for anyone who wants a slim, statuesque, solid torchiere whose concentric circles of LEDs put out a dimmable light that ranges from brilliant to subtle, and that can be swiveled to reflect off any wall or ceiling to light your room any way you want it. Also, the supporting pole comes in three pieces, so you can adjust it to any height. I use three of mine as floor lamps, but the fourth does very nicely on my bedside table. Overall, I think this lamp is a great product and a great value. Now, a word about Trond's customer service. After a couple months, one of my lamps developed a problem with the power connection at the base, probably due to basic wear and tear courtesy of my cats. I sent Trond an email about it, not expecting much. Within a week the replacement parts were at my door, courtesy of a very conscientious anonymous customer service rep, whose name starts with "B" and ends with "ruce." After my experience with the lamps, I realized that I'd previously bought another really good Trond product, also on Amazon: an inexpensive power box that turns any wall outlet into five USB outlets. That, too, has served me well. I don't really know anything about the company. But if they keep doing what they've done for me, I'll keep my eye out for their stuff.

Update: TROND customer support earned this.
Update: Turns out TROND has really on point customer service. They contacted me after this review was posted, and have sorted out the issues I had with the lamp. Their support was both informative, and helpful. A+. I'll update this review again a few weeks down the line and let you guys know how it's preforming. Update 2: I've had the light awhile, and it seems to be holding up really wel, there have been no further issues with the lamp. l I think the lumen rating is a little off, as I have a flashlight that over powers this light. (The flashlight I have is 1100 lumens max) Overall I am pleased with the functionality of this light, and can wholeheartedly recommend it especially since the support I received from TROND was so good. I was REALLY excited about this lamp. I read the reviews, did what homework I was able to. I had to do a lot of talking to get the wife on board with this lamp.. And it stopped working after a day or so... Which meant I had to listen to a lot of "I told you so" For what its worth I doubt this is a common problem, and the return process with Amazon was VERY easy, but I wont be buying this lamp again, and I wanted to share my experience here as well. It might be worth noting that while it worked I liked the way the lamp worked (for the most part) Though the lamp does work on a wall switch, it doesn't work as I had though it would. It appears to default to the lowest setting, which is not bright at all. The highest brightness setting was nice though.

Great sleek minimal light!
Excellent feel, easy to put together, light up entire room. Problem is, it keeps blinking! I don't know what to do. It started off great and about one week later the light blinks constantly. Can't replace bulb and when I go to send message to amazon it sends me to a weird default page. Help!!! Send me a new bulb head or replacement.... I need this light to work or I am out $80.00 =( ***UPDATE: The customer service team reached out to me and without me having to contact them, they were eager to make this right with me! Bruce from TROND customer care had been the one in contact with me. They sent me a new lamp! The new one does not blink! It works as it is supposed to! I am very happy with this product now. I will recommend to any future buyers and if you get a faulty one like I had received, the TROND company seems to stand by their warranty and are willing to correct any issues. I will update review if anything wrong happens. One thing different this time is the power on button worked right away, whereas the other lamp before it started blinking had an issue powering on at first. Pretty confident this one is not faulty, seems to be brighter too. I am happy. Thank You Trond!

MISADVERTISED as a 5000 lumen light!!! Best guess is 2400-2500 lumens (similar to others)
tl;dr Currently the description of this light includes the following text: 5000lm (interpreted as 5000 lumens). This is not correct. The included documentation describes the light as 5000 lux. With a little simple math (included below), I estimate this is actually around 2400 to 2500 lumens, which passes the sniff test as it is substantially dimmer than my existing lights, and is in line with the actual lumens posted on a number of similar products here on Amazon. Otherwise, pretty nice light if you have the correct expectations for brightness. Nitty Gritty review details: I bought this light because I saw it listed as having 5000lm in the title. Given I am trying to replace an existing 5 head lamp with 100W bulbs in each head, this looked to be in the right ballpark. As it also included natural-like 5500k lighting and multiple brightness settings, and also worked with on/off switches, it looked like a winner to me, and I bought it without a second thought. It arrived the next day with prime at no additional cost, which means of course the shipping was great, and I had have complaints there as it arrived on time and in good condition. Putting it together was a snap (well, really a few twists), even without looking at the instructions (there were reasonable, plain English instructions included which I only read after because of this review ;-) ). Actually, considering this is basically a simple light, the pamphlet that came with it seems pretty reasonable to me. One thing I really liked about this light is that because of how electrical cabling is done, you actually have the ability to 1) adjust the height of the lamp by omitting or adding 1 or 2 of the joints, 2) one can pick the height of the in the lamp touch controls by simply switching the order of the stacking of the joints and 3) the way connections and wiring were handled, there was no awkward working around the cabling running through the stand, which made putting it together less annoying than other similar lights I have had in the past. Kudos to the designers for how this thing is put together. Structurally, my only complaint was that the join connecting the light head to the rest of the lamp is not supposed to be separated from the rest of the lamp (lots of warnings about this on the lamp), but it's pretty loose, and I almost did that very thing by just taking the lamp apart. So be careful, and as a design suggestion, consider some other mechanism than using threaded pipe to lock the head position to help prevent people from breaking their shiny new lamp by accident! Lastly, the 5500k lighting is pretty good, seems to be about the right color, definitely makes my office corner have a more natural light, and I don't see any flicker, which I sometimes do with cheaper leds. Okay, so why not five stars? Well, I going to avoid saying "false advertising" because I want to assume the description in Amazon is simply a misunderstanding by someone who created the add for Amazon who didn't realize that lm and lx are not in any way the same thing. My personal narrative: So I take the lamp out and put it together, which was an amazing experience because of the points listed above. I'm feeling pretty excited as I plug it in and turn it on and boom!....well, not exactly boom, because I was pretty underwhelmed. The light was way dimmer than I expected. So I'm thinking to myself...well, maybe I misunderstood how bright it should be, maybe Amazon said lux and I just thought lumens. Anyway, I'm disappointed, but I have space in my office where this can go (it's not nearly bright enough to replace the light in the living room I wanted to replace), and the 5500k will help perk me up for work, I think, since I am working from for now. But after putting it up in my office, and I take a look at the documentation that came with it that says the light is 5000lux at 40cm (not mention of lumens). At this point, I'm like...wait...coincidence? Not likely, so I looked this up in Amazon and sure enough it says 5000 lumens. So I'm like...alright, let's see if 5000 lux is actually 5000 lumens in this case. And so here is a little math, since calculating lumens from lux isn't too difficult. I started by estimating the angle of the light cone, which I think I'm being pretty generous estimating at 90 degrees across (seems less for the bright part of the beam, but I'm going to be generous). 40cm is 1.31 ft, and since we're talking about 90 degrees total, the radium of the circle of light beam will be half of the 90 degrees, and that will create a 45/45/90 triangle, so the radius of the beam will be about the same as the distance from the surface, so also 1.31 ft. If we take 1.31 ft to be our bright circle radius, then we get a surface area for my flat roof of about Pi*1.31^2 = 5.39 sq ft. Now that we know the surface area being illuminated to 5000lx, we can actually calculate the estimate for lumens (converstion constant x lux x area): 0.09290304*5000lx*5.39ft^2 = 2503 lumens. Since I'm doing math, I move on with my calculations for the stars I will give in this review: this looks like an honest mistake, but I did buy a medium priced light I didn't really want, so...2 stars base. I like color of the light, the setup, instructions, and construction, so +1 star for that. If I had actually wanted a 2400 - 2500 lumen light and known this was that, I would probably give it 5 stars...but it's 3 stars for buying something that really didn't fill the need I had but was better in some ways than I expected. I haven't fully decided, but I will likely be returning this light. -jfc

It stopped working but I love this lamp! Great Customer Service!
I originally ordered this lamp late 2017. I went through a number of lamp options online trying to find just the right one (extremely bright, modern style, and dimming options). When I found this lamp I read a lot of mixed reviews. Some people said they loved this lamp and it was exactly what they were looking for and others were extremely displeased saying that the lamp worked for about 30 days then started flickering or stopped all together. I decided to take the gamble and hope I was on the winning side of those reviews. When I set it up the lamp worked great. It was just as bright as I was hoping and looks great with all of my other furniture. After about 2 weeks the lamp started to flicker randomly, automatically turning off then on again every 3-5 seconds or so, sometimes it would just turn off and stay off. I contacted amazon and they happily provided me a return shipping label for a refund, however before I had a day to pack the lamp up and ship it back the lamp started to work properly again with no flickering or power issues. So I decided to keep it. Then a couple months before this review the lamp started to act up again. Which by now the return shipping label had expired and was way past amazons return day policy. I decided to contact Trond directly via email and was pleased to receive a response from Bruce (Trond customer care) within just a couple of hours. He asked a couple questions and offered a few trouble shooting solutions which happened to still not work. He then shipped me a brand new replacement lamp without hesitation. I can't say enough how easy it was working with Bruce and my new lamp works flawlessly. I really loved this lamp and was disappointed when it stopped working, but thanks to Bruce's/Trond's Customer Service I got the lamp that I wanted and didn't have to settle for the 2nd best on my original list of potential lamps.

More daylight the better 😊
These lamps are fantastic…..I have bought a few of them now in the last month, one in almost every room and gifts for a few people. The light lifts our mood so much better than traditional lighting. My husband also loves them. I am recommending them for anyone who needs that extra mood lift during the dark and overcast cloudy days especially in winter months. Also they are so easy to put together and love that it has a few levels of light. No regrets.

The lamp is sturdy and looks very modern as it comes with an ...
I had the TROND LED Floor lamp for about 3 months now. Unfortunately when I first received it one of the rods wasn't able to screw on tightly, and because of that the top half of the lamp was unstable. Nonetheless, the customer support was really cooperative, and sent me a replacement right away. The lamp is sturdy and looks very modern as it comes with an intuitive touch control on the rod itself. The light produced is more than enough to brighten my whole bedroom and comes in a vibrant daylight color. It also comes with a unique feature that automatically shuts off the floor lamp after half an hour if you press and hold the power button. Be aware that if you're purchasing this lamp specifically to work with your wall switch, there will be some delay, and it won't save the previous light setting. Overall, it's a great LED Torchiere Floor Lamp, and I feel satisfied with my purchase.

Works very well, but with two caveats - Fonctionne très bien, mais avec deux “bémols”
Cette lampe est très solide et de très belle qualité __________________________________ This lamp replaces an old fluorescent lamp that was designed for rendering true colors. The Trond lamp's brightness is very good, significantly better and projects wider and farther than my old lamp. (There were two 24 W fluorescent bulbs in the old lamp). The color temperature of the Trond lamp is also closer to daylight which I appreciate in my condo that doesn’t receive a lot of sunlight. I was expecting because it has LEDs, the Tron Lamp to be a lot cooler than the old one, but it is a lot hotter to the touch under the "disc" than my old lamp. I wanted to avoid this heat because of the inconvenience during hot summer days. The heat dissipation design of the Trond lamp should protect the LEDs from being damaged. The lamp is continuously on at my place. I find the blue LED behind the control button quite bright. It is not too intrusive but I would have preferred not to have this light at night. I should be able to find a way to dampen the brightness of this LED. The lamp is sturdy and of very good quality.

Love these lights
I now have three of these lights, and will be getting a fourth shortly. Well constructed and easily assembled, they put out great light. My first was "warm white" (a model they no longer make) but two new ones are "daylight" and work wonderfully in their windowless room. Their slim profile doesn't compete with the art on the walls, but still fill the room with light. I am still a little concerned about the integrated (thus not replaceable) LED array, but I'm in my 60s, they will probably survive me.

power adapter malfunction
This lamp is a good LED torchiere lamp, easy to assemble and bright. If you have dark rooms with low ceilings at your place this is a must. The cons of this product is that since the lamp is light, it will topple over easily if you bump into it. The customer service is very good but not perfect. My experience was that the power adapter malfunctioned within two months of purchase. I contacted the customer service, expecting to obtain a replacement power adapter. However, they sent me a second lamp! I thought that was amazing. I now had two lamps. However, the first lamp did not have a power adapter and I did not know what power adapter to buy. I ended up buying a power adapter with the following characteristics and it worked. DC24V 2A Adapter AC 100V-240V to DC 24V Converter Power Supply Adapter Plug Size: 5.5X2.5mm Input: AC 100~240V 50/60Hz Output: DC 24V 2A.
