Worth the extra cost
These are worth the extra cost to avoid having to use screws. It took longer to chip off the extra sloppy drywall mud than it took to install them. If the bottom of your housing is folded or has a lip you must use screws to install. At that point consider buying some of the cheaper options.

They’re ok.
I liked the fact the clips had a fold that kept both side uniform. They worked well in a 6 inch recessed can light and held the new spring clips secured. My biggest complaint is the screws… they didn’t work well at all. They are self tapping however it was almost impossible to get them to start screwing in. I ended up using a 90 degree drill adapter and with enough force they went in. They’re not bad, they’re not good, they just do the job with some effort.

They worked…
I purchased 3 10 pa is of these to install new LED recess lights to replace old ones. Our cans didn’t have the bracket we needed so we purchased these rather than replace all the cans. Two packs were exactly as described. One pack of 10 was short so you had to guess on placement. It did not clip to bottom of can just had a screw. We used these on the easier to access lights as they would have been very difficult with some as our ceilings are vaulted. To me these are already quite expensive for what they are so I would think all should have been as described.

Overpriced
Most over priced bit of hardware I have bought in a few years, but it gets the job done.

Just buy these
I was in the process of changing by current recessed lights to LED lights but my cans didn't have the torsion spring brackets. I tried to install the lights anyway but they kept sagging. I tried the following:Bending the torsion springsRubber bands to suck the lights upBungie chords to suck the lights upTwo way tapeMounting puttyMounting velcro tapeMasking tapeTopping compoundPutting irrigation tubing on the end of the torsion springs to increase the coefficient of frictionand all failed.I tried clear silicone and that worked but it was messy. Who knows what it will be like if I ever have to remove them.I finally broke down and bought these brackets. The clips make it super easy to install. I used a Ryobi 90° angle drill to make pilot holes and the screws went right in. The lights sit flush against the ceiling and I'm happy.

Use the screws!
I have used similar ones in the past with ease. No screws needed. These come with screws and you really need to use them. You need a right angle drill however. The much higher cost for these that slip on versus the ones that don’t becomes hard to justify if you have to also use the screws. However these solve a problem if you have cans that need them. Now, there are LED recessed trim conversions that provide both mounting systems so going forward those are what I will be buying.
