Big disappointment
The Elite Gourmet EC140 percolator came from China via America. It had an American plug, no use unless you go out and buy an adapter (warning - take care when ordering anything electrical that's non-British or even European since you may (as I did in this case) get a non English-fitting plug) and it failed miserably on first brew. That meant a waste of four spoonfuls of coffee. Amazon's return system permitted me to send it back to America. I would avoid this model in future.

Makes 6 proper mugs of coffee. Quick to perk but you don’t need much coffee to get good flavour.

Incompatible for the UK
The percolator is not suitable for the UK electricity supply it comes with an Ametican plug for America’s 110 volt supply not 240 volt for UK.

waited ages for this item to arrive and my excitement when it did was soon dampened when i realised it had an american plug,it cost me £9 for an adaptor

Rubbish and very disappointed
Did not realise I had to buy a plug adaptor to use it in UK...I ground a packet of strong Coffee beans and used as directed..difficulty to see cup marker in the percolator coffee was only Luke warm when ready...tried a second batch but percolator now not working.

Not making hot coffee
Not making hot coffee. makes a lot of noise. had to buy plug adaptor, sorry i had not read previous reviews or I would have not purchased this product, also I would have like to return the item, but having only just used it for the first time April 2024 Ive missed the return slot, but then again I suppose that was my error not using the machine straight away on delivery. Tried a few times but the coffee is not what you would call hot, just luke warm, basically not happy with produce, and will look for a different model.

July 16, 2025 I purchased this coffee maker January 5, 2025. It made good tasting hot coffee. Buy May It started leaking on the counter if the coffee was left in the pot for a couple of hours. I checked with Amazon and found I was past the return window and was directed to the manufacture, Elite Gourmet. It took me a while, but I finally found customer service on their website. I told them what was happening and sent in my request for a replacement or a refund in an email on June 25th. They sent me a reply email the next day saying, " please allow them to respond in 3 to 5 business days" to respond. Then I forgot about it until July 11th. I sent them another request. They responded saying that they had sent me a request for more information on June 26th, not true. The only response I got from them was the request for more time, then nothing until I emailed them again. They wanted proof of purchase and a picture of the label with date code. I sent them a picture of my order on amazon and the label that same day. That was not enough they wanted a pdf of the invoice. I sent them that and another picture of the label with the date code. Then they requested a picture of the coffee maker with the cord cut and another picture of the label, and my address (which they already had). That was the last straw. I sent them what they asked for and told them how miserable their customer service was and that they made it feel like I was trying to scam them out of a $38 coffee maker. I told them the whole process was frustrating and insulting and that I would never buy another product from Elite Gourmet again. I said my review on Amazon would reflect my frustration, so here it is. Thank you. 9/28/25 To add to my review the new coffee maker is already leaking after only two and a half months of lite use. After the run around Elite Gourmet gave me replacing the first leaking pot, I'm just going to throw it away and buy something else. It would be nice if Amazon would offer me a refund!
