I am very happy with the speaker. JBL product quality doesn't really need explanation. After experimenting with many cheap and expensive brands, I don't think I would ever buy any portable speaker other than JBL. By now, I have 3 Flips and an older Charge, all working flawless for years. This new Charge 5 Wi-fi sounds amazing and battery lasts a week playing low volume background music over home WiFi some 8-10 hrs per day. I do have to say that I struggled with the WiFi connection via the JBL ONE app. After hours searching in the JBL website and my internet provider for support, double and triple resetting speaker, router and phone several times and in ridiculous sequences suggested, I kept on receiving "We are unable to connect your product to Wi-Fi, TRY AGAIN". At some point out of frustration I regretted the purchase, (knowing I was trading the reliable 3.5MM audio jack connector for the new WiFi option). Fortunately, after countless hours on the internet searching for alternative troubleshooting info, St. Google led me to some nerds' forum which I can't even find again (but God bless their dedication), suggesting also to try the process with another phone. The thing is that the "other phone" available was my wife's, which is exactly the same model I have (Samsung S22), so I really didn't believe in the suggestion, but I tried the last resort anyway. Surprisingly, with the 2nd phone, the speaker connected literally in seconds to our home WiFi. Not only that, immediately then my "broken" phone also showed the speaker in JBL app like if nothing wrong ever happened. To date, I have no idea what caused the problem, but the speaker has been working flawless over home Wi-Fi and controlled by either phone irrespective, plus another older phone that we keep as remote. I understand that Wi-Fi is a relatively new venture for JBL as well, so I believe sharing this experience might help others in case they stumble upon the same "problem" which might not even be JBL's fault. However, JBL still needs to improve their troubleshooting support. If it wasn't because of that nerds forum, I would have returned the speaker, not knowing it was not even a speaker problem. Cheers.

As an audiophile, there are many things that I can't stand about small mono bluetooth speaker, the congested soundstage, U-shaped frequency response, the lack of clarity and transparency, and, of course, the speaker being mono. The JBL Charge 5 WiFi's advantage is Wifi - allows me to use my Roon Nucleus Titan through the network as well as playing via Wifi (which generally sounds better than bluetooth). This speaker sounded adequate, but it really improved after applying the custom "Equalization" function. Aside from the preset, I manually applied the EQ based on test tracks and then used Room Equalization Wizard software to determined the exact frequency response to double check my initial EQ, which worked really well. Afterward, the sound is more open, more detailed and the presentation more even. Of course, the bass response will change as your proximity gets closer to a wall or a corner, so you have to make adjustments depending on listening habits. The sound is quite good especially playing solo piano, pop music and jazz. Keep the speaker a couple of feet away from that wall to avoid a boomy sound. Overall, this little speaker is very good for a mono setup. I can take it to room to room for good music playback and use it with less fidelity-demanding podcasts through bluetooth. You can even get two of these and connect them as party mode or as a stereo pair for even better sound quality. Highly recommended.

Bought used - only used a few times and it is not charging having less than 2 months. Seller says they do not offer any warranty for that. I would say this is fraud - it is not used -mint condition. It was a lemon they sold me.

Love this. Since it can connect to wifi I can hook it up to use with Alexa and play music anywhere in the house or back yard that I get my home wifi signal. I bought a second and get the same music playing in multiple rooms. There was a slight learning curve to getting it working on Alexa with all speakers but works well now. I'm not an audiophile but it sounds great for my use.

WiFi speakers easily beat Bluetooth. (This unit has both.) And this JBL Charge 5 WiFi astonishes. I added this to my Google Home and have the entire house on sync'ed WiFi surround sound. Wonderful sound with rich JBL clarity in a manageable package. Playing Spotify and other streaming music everywhere now, in sync across devices, and audibly better sound than Bluetooth. Build quality is top-notch as I expect from JBL. Setup using the JBL One app was clear and easy. Google Home recognized the JBL automatically. Unit is robust, charges with USB-C, thank you. And it pours out sound. I just bought another.

Jbl destaca calidad. Y lo compré usado y trabaja perfectamente recomendado para oír música ahí sí donde esté el altavoz y donde usted el celular o el reproductor

La compré vendida por Electronica YASA ya que tenía el mejor precio (Costó prácticamente lo mismo que la que sólo es BT) y al principio tenía mis dudas porque me daba miedo recibir un producto imitación o que fuera el modelo que sólo tiene bluetooth. Pero afortunadamente recibí un producto nuevo y sellado, además no me queda duda que es original porque la app de JBL la reconoce sin problema, la uso con Airplay y funciona muy bien, lo único malo es que la app de JBL no ofrece muchos servicios de música, dentro de los más populares tiene Amazon music, Tidal y Spotify Connect, por lo que si tienes Deezer, Apple Music, etc. forzosamente se debe transmitir por WiFi o BT. En general la bocina tiene buenos bajos y se siente de materiales de buena calidad.

Output sound is dynamic, loud and clear separation between vocals and background music. A plus using it to pair via WiFi network with my Google home speaker., sounds powerful. Like it.
