Works as advertised.
Just plugged it in and tested voltage. Was good.

Works as advertised. Great value - I use it for Technics turntables from Japan
This thing is a beast. I'm a professional DJ in the U.S. and I use it for my Technics SLR1200MK3 turntables. The turntables were originally manufactured for the Japanese domestic market, and while Japan and the U.S. have the same wall outlet interface, Japan is on 100v whereas the U.S. is on 115v-120v. This is the perfect step down transformer for my purposes. Really solid product. All the instructions and manual information is in Japanese, so here are some of the basics: There are two outputs, so don't let that confuse you. You plug the cord in to the wall, and you can plug in two appliances (in my case turntables). For you DJs out there, another bonus of this transformer is that by isolating the power source through a transformer, you prevent feedback in the mixer that often comes from plugging both turntables and the mixer into the same circuit: any extra electricity has gotta go somewhere, so without an isolated power source for the turntables, the ground takes the heat, which causes 80hz feedback usually in the right channel of one of your two sources. In fact, I recommend getting an isolation transformer for your turntables regardless of what voltage your turntables use. There are 120v to 120v isolation transformers here on amazon; I haven't tried them but the Jameco Valuepro ITR300 Power Isolation Transformer 120v to 120v 300VA 60Hz looks good, similar to this product. It is extremely solid, in fact somewhat heavier than you might think when you look at it. It looks and feels bomb proof. I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. As some other reviewers mentioned, there is a chance that this product will arrive with bent mounting plates, but as they also mentioned, they bend right back into place without seeming to even stress the metal. I emphatically recommend this product, and if you are a DJ in the U.S. with Technics MK3s or MK3Ds, definitely buy this.

Great product
Japanese products are always on my top list in terms of quality and cost. This one is no exceptional. Great price and works very well with my Japan bought rice cooker.

Works, but QC issues
Mounting tabs bent so obviously dropped. Despite this, seems to work fine. Very quiet. Instructions in Japanese only so you have to read questions section here at Amazon to be sure you’re not doing anything wrong. Disappointing that a company that sells internationally wouldn’t bother to add English, French, German etc

Top outlet says 100 bottom implies normal wall strength.
This is a nice step down converter. It is high power enough to be useful and small enough to fit places. This takes USA power to 100v which prevents items from receiving 20% more power than they were made for. Some electronics and cook wear will only work at 100v (read this as from JPN).About the unit.1. It hums. I suggest using a switch on the outlet as this device will draw wall power when not in use. The hum tells you this.2. The box it comes in was destroyed. Seriously. I got this and the internal box was flimsy and tore to ribbons. The unit was ok but knocked about a bit. The unit itself is a beast. but packing peanuts or bubble wrap would be nice.3. Not built with a ground cable. Perhaps the Japanese do not know we have these on all outlets.4. No feet.5. This is an industrial type unit. The color lets you know.6. Works with my kotatsu so this is all that matters.

Simple plug and play.
All you have to do is plug the device you want to use into one of the sockets and then plug the until into a wall socket. That's it. No knows, switches, settings, nothing. Very easy and straightforward.

This is an auto-transformer, not a real transformer, so be careful !
It looks well built and does what it says it is supposed to do. I plugged it in and loaded it with a 1500 W heater. There was no vibration or overheating. I checked the voltages and it transformed 125 V to 105 V.These were the good news. When I checked isolation between input and output, there was NONE. Also, you'll notice actually from their picture that the prongs on the cable that is supposed to be plugged into the wall outlet are both small so since it is not polarized it can be plugged either way. However, the two outlets on the autotransformer are polarized, which gives the wrong impression that the unit is polarized. No wonder this device is not UL approved and since I'd feel uncomfortable using it in the bathroom or the kitchen, where there might be water on the floor, I decided to return it. It is possible they said what it really was in Japanese, but the translation is missing so I gave it 5 stars for quality and one for misleading description.

120V to 100V in a breeze
I am using this in Norway together with an 240V to 120V Step Down Converter to get that Precious 100V needed to power my old Japanese HiFi products. Namely a Pioneer C21 Pre amplifier and a Sansui QSD-2 Quad Decoder. The 1500W might be a tad overkill for these to applications, but it may be used for more in the future and the C21 does have power outlets and the 240V to 120V Converter is 1500W which match nicely. My meassurements are as follows:241.5V From the grid121,4V From the 240V to 120V Step down Converter101,3V From the NISSYO industrial transformer
