Restored color and sheen, softened a stiff jacket
I have an old biker jacket I bought off a friend that has seen better days. Based on the Wilsons Leather neck tag, it's probably from the 90s and it seemed to have been neglected before I owned it, with some cracking starting to occur in spots. Not wanting to drop a couple hundred dollars on a new jacket, I decided to revive it instead so I did some online research and landed at this product. I saddle soaped to clean it first and then began with the Pecard. I was expecting this to have some kind of smell but it was really very subtle to the point that I didn't smell anything unless I put it to my nose and sniffed. It actually smells a lot like bees wax, which I believe to be a main ingredient in this based on the smell and color. Anyway, like many other reviewers, I used my fingers to work the dressing into the leather, using the heat to melt it into an oil as I rubbed. I let it absorb overnight and I buffed the jacket twice with two clean rags until it was no longer greasy. The result? It did a great job putting some life back into the jacket as far as restoring color and sheen but what most impressed me was the feel of the jacket. Less than 24 hours after application, it no longer felt stiff and dry. The oils rehydrated the leather, making it supple and soft again and allowing me to easily bend my arms where there was the most resistance.I also tried this product on a pair of nice lamb skin gloves but they seem to have a tacky feel to them now, even after buffing. Perhaps soft dress leather isn't the best for this product. Again, they restored color but I'm really hoping those return to its normal feel.I like that this is made in the USA, made of natural ingredients, and contains no lanolin or animal fat unlike mink oil, yet still gives the jacket water resistant properties

Smells great, simple beeswax base, works great, just great!
Very happy with this stuff. Smells like honey because of the beeswax content, that was a nice first impression when I opened it. Other leather conditioners/dressings I have used in the past had strong chemical smells and I really like how natural and simple this stuff is. I bought a very nice handmade vegetable tanned leather belt that I LOVE and wanted to take care of it, plus the edges weren't slicked/burnished to my liking and after reading about it I figured I'd try to clean up the edges myself. I got this today and rubbed the surface with a light coat and then went to work on the edges. It was a quick and easy job as this stuff instantly made a huge difference, I repeated a couple coats and rubbed down the edges to a nice slick/burnished look. I am super happy with it and this tub is larger than I expected. I wasn't sure what 6oz of it would really look like but it was only $3 more than the 2.5oz and had prime shipping so I figured why not, but based on how much I liberally applied today I barely put a dent into it. I expect this to last me pretty much forever as I don't really own much leather but I will definitely be using this on any leather I have it is GREAT!.I attached a before and after picture so you can see how nice it cleaned up the edge, it also really brought out the nice natural leather color in the belt. I love the look of natural undyed vegetable tanned leather and I really like how this beeswax based dressing shined it up, and it will really help protect my nice belt for years to come.I highly recommend this product if you are looking for a good leather dressing, I mean come on they've been around since 1902! You don't stay in business that long by being sub-par! Go ahead and grab a 6oz tub it will last forever and you will be very pleased, much better than gross smelling chemical alternatives. 5 stars!

Exactly what I wanted for restoration
I bought this dressing to try restoring a cheaper genuine leather jacket that has a lot of sentimental value. I applied the dressing to half of the jacket and set it on a chair to dry. I took a photo on the third day of my experiment and attached it to this review. The progress is incredible and I am happy to have purchased this product. I have since applied it to an Italian military surplus full grain leather pistol holster from the 80s and it increased the sheen & look (as it did with the jacket), but more importantly the pliability of the dry leather holster. This stuff is awesome for my restoration needs.

Great product but so little of it for this price
I liked this product. Used it to revitalize hard-working 20-year old Red Wing work boots. It is perfect for that. I just think that the amount was a bit miserly for the price.

Great stuff for leather worth every penny
Perfect for applying to leather bull whip to protect them and extend the overall life of the whip. Apply every 3-6 months depending on amount of use. Also perfect for conditioning lots of other leather items such as boots, belt, wallets, hats, gloves, holsters and much more!

Better than Mink Oil
This (Pecard 32oz Leather Dressing) is a great product to use on just about any finished leather item. I most often use it on my leather shoes to hide scuffs and wear and protect from the wet and winter salt. It darkens the leather a little but makes them look almost new when done! I use it every week and can not remember the last time I used polish. I use to have to buy a new pair of leather shoes for work every year; right after winter ended as the ice, snow, wear and salt of the season took its toll. Now I'm able to keep those shoes working! I stopped using mink oil as I discovered that mold is attracted to the natural product (when I found a pair of leather shoes stored away had green fuzz all over it!) I was a fan of mink oil for a decade or more; but after a few years of using this product I have thrown my mink oil away as this simply works better and does not run the risk of mold. PS: I have purchased a few of the vintage Pecard Tins online or when found in the vintage stores. I refill them from this super-sized container for that retro look and feel. See Images.
