Viscosoft Rescue 4 Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper Twin - Plush Pillow Top

I have waited 5 months to leave a review. I wanted to make sure that all the bad reviews I read here were real or false. I have degenerative disc disease so I couldn't sleep in my bed with my husband anymore. I was sleeping in a recliner in the living room. I sell on eBay so I had an eBay room. With much discussion with my husband, we cleaned out my eBay room got me a hospital bed off of Facebook Marketplace and I finally ordered this mattress topper. Now it is important to tell you that I spent months researching mattress toppers. I read the good reviews and the bad. If I saw a common thread in the bad reviews then I didn't even think about going with that topper. Then I saw the video that Arzante posted with his 5-star review. I took a second look at this topper again. It was now at the top of my list. I received the topper a few days before my room was ready. So I was able to lay it out for a few days prior to sleeping on it. One thing I saw in several reviews on a lot of toppers was that there was a horrible chemical smell. Mine had no odor at all. That was the first thing I did when we got it opened was to take a big sniff and I didn't smell anything bad. I am a woman in my early 50s and I have horrible hot flashes. I also weigh over 250 pounds. I think it is important for you to know this for the second part of my review. I have read a lot of reviews complaining of the foam making them hot during the night or the foam flattened when used. This is why I wanted to wait 5 months to leave my review. I wanted to make sure I gave YOU accurate information. August in Iowa is unpleasant to begin with, but when you throw hot flashes into the mix it can be downright miserable. My wonderful husband put in a ceiling fan and a window air conditioner in my room. Along with an atomic clock that tells me the temperature in the room and what it is outside. I didn't have much trouble with being hot when sleeping with the topper. I was even using cotton sheets. Now it is Winter in Iowa. There are a few things I have figured out during my 5 months with my topper. Tencel or bamboo sheets are a must-have for those who run hot when they sleep. After the window air conditioner was taken out I did start waking up hot and had to uncover for a while. I am still using the ceiling fan and it helps. This is where the atomic clock comes in. I have also closed the vent in my room to our boiler so I get very little heat in my room. I prefer to go to bed when my room is at around 65 degrees. At times I wake up and my room is 71 - 73 degrees. Most days it is 69 degrees. With a room that cool and bamboo sheets I get chilled when I go to bed, but within minutes I am warmed up and perfectly comfortable. These are some of the things that I do to make sure my foam topper stays in good condition. At least once a month we strip the bed and flip the topper and make sure that what was at my feet is now at my head and the top is now the bottom. The topper is inspected for creases, rips, or tears. I have yet to find one. We also switch the hospital mattress from foot to head and vice versa. One of the things I was worried about using a foam topper was using an adjustable hospital bed. My head and feet are raised. What is this doing to the foam topper? Nothing. It is perfectly fine. This is important to know. When you wash the padded mattress cover DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER!!! Let it air dry. We read the instructions and dried it on low and it seems to have shrunk a little bit. In width not in length. It is about an inch narrower on both sides now. This isn't a huge deal, I don't sleep on the edge of the bed. Also, twin XL sheets are not going to fit perfectly on this bed. We got straps that make the sheets tighter. Deep pocket sheets are not your friend with a hospital bed. This is my take on this topper. It is comfortable. I do feel like I am being cradled when sleeping. I don't move much in my sleep as it is a twin bed and when it is adjusted it is hard to sleep on your side unless you flatten the bed more. My back and hip pain has diminished. It will never go away fully, but I don't have to wrap a heating pad around my lower back for an hour after getting up just to be able to move. This is not a firm topper, nor is it is super soft. I guess for me I am Goldilocks and I found the one that is just right. At the end of the day, it is about your preference. This is perfect for me and if I ever need to replace this topper I will be buying this same one again.

I purchased a new (very expensive) mattress that ended up being way too hard for me. I purchases one topper but it really didn't help, so then added two mattress pads that still didn't give me much help. I finally bit the bullet and decided to try this topper, based in part on the fact that it was a cooling topper. I sleep very hot and live in a climate with almost year round air conditioning so I am desperate to get cool at night. Health problems also contribute to my needing a bed that can cool me down. This topper set up is very heavy. I got the 4 inch version which came with the memory foam topper and the pillow top pad. Once you attach the pad to the topper and then pull the skirt around your mattress, it never moves. I had no issue with it slipping at all. I also had no issue with any sort of chemical odor or smell. I have severe allergies and migraines and after I unboxed it and let it sit out for several hours, I was able to sleep on it that night without any problem. The 4 inch topper set up completely solved my hard mattress problem. It basically turned my rock hard mattress into a new pillow top bed. It was like getting an entirely new mattress. It gave me the 'snuggle into the bed' feeling I had been looking for. I have back and should pain issues if a bed is too soft or hard and I now wake up without any back or shoulder pain. This won't be the item for you if you want something hard or very firm. But if you like a pillow top feeling, then look at this. I also have not over heated in it since I got it. It's not super cooling, but I don't wake up sweating, either.

I purchased this particular pad because it advertises comfort and cooling. It is quite comfortable - my back feels better, and it has no chemical odor, BUT it is NOT cooling AT ALL! I am a very cold natured person, such that I wear sweaters in 70 degree weather and a full-on winter puffer coat in the grocery stores even in the summer; this thing sleeps SO HOT! Seriously! Even with the AC running, the bedroom ceiling fan on full blast, the large vortex room stick fan pointed directly on me at full blast, and sleeping under only a bed sheet, I awaken HOT numerous times throughout the night and actually finally just get out of bed and sleep on the couch, where I am ice cold because the AC has been running full blast all night! If cool sleeping in addition to comfort is your purchase point, this won’t work for you.

I bought a new, low end, extra firm beautyrest mattress 6 months ago which had great reviews saying it was good for back. Having disc, neck and vertebrae issues, I got it. It had a huge lump like it was folded when I got it. It was rock hard and felt like I was sleeping out in my driveway on asphalt. My back was getting ripped apart on it and I never felt worse. I could barely walk after 5 months on it. I couldn't afford to buy another mattress, so I figured I'm gonna try one more topper and if it doesn't work, I'm gonna have to go back to a waterbed mattress. I got a couple different mattress toppers, and I also already had a 4" memory foam one. All of them left me in horrible pain. I finally researched everything I could, and decided I'd be willing to spend a little more one last time and I could use it on a waterbed if it don't work. I don't know how long this is gonna last, but this topper changed everything. My bed, which was crushing my sciatic nerve cuz it was rock hard, is now comfortable and actually feels soft, but is firm still, unlike the other cheap 4" topper that felt cheap too. This topper has been having my back. I got some Beckham hotel pillows with it for my neck. I pray to God it lasts a long time cuz that mattress was a cheap piece of scrap and a huge disappointment for a beautyrest. I am so glad I got this. Trust me, all memory foam mattresses toppers aren't created equal. I highly recommend it. I like that it has the polyester topping too which is the main reason I got it. I need the down alternative cuz it's the best with the combination instead of just the foam. The price went up a lot since I bought it. I think they should put the price down, but seriously, as long as a person sleeps each day, I'm done with cheap mattresses. Your health is worth it. It'll save you $$ from chiropractor visits.

Very comfortable. Made the bed a little more warm, but it was worth it! I don’t want to get out of bed in the mornings now! I love how easy it is to take on and off the bed. Does not fit too tightly around the bed.

I waited years and years to buy a Saatva. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered the traditional plush mattress. It was a mistake. A very big mistake that caused us many nights of lost sleep. We experienced back pain, numerous sleepless nights, and I even finally started sleeping in my recliner most nights to get some sleep. I relented, after realizing it was the mattress causing all the issues, called to return the mattress. They asked, and I agreed, to try their Saatva mattress topper. The reasoning was that 6+ months was not enough time for the mattress to ‘break in’. I agreed to give it 30 days. 30 semi sleepless days later, I called to return the mattress. They said I could keep the topper, which I put on our new Tommy Baha mattress we purchased from our discount salvage store. I threw in the towel with paying thousands for what I felt a garbage mattress. Sleep improved 75% after buying the new mattress, but I just knew we could get to 100%. After lots of research, I purchased this topper. Out with the Saatva topper and in with the Viscosoft pillow top mattress pad. WOWZA!!!!!!!!! This mattress topper is what I feel as though sleeping on a heavenly cloud must feel like! It is plush, pillowy, luxurious, heavenly, glorious, etc……to infinity and beyond!!! My husband said that the only issue with this topper is that he hates to get out of bed now in the morning!! I have owned similar ones in the past, but I would agree that the quality of this one surpasses the others. I really love the fact the topper has DEEP pockets, so there is plenty of coverage that tucks nicely under the mattress with lots of extra to spare. That is a bonus. It took us years to realize that it is critical to ensure we get enough quality sleep, especially as we get older. So with that in mind, we are willing to spend extra on a higher quality product when it is related to sleep. That is why we chose this topper after reading all of the reviews. We are definitely not sorry! Buy this topper. I believe they offer a no questions asked return policy for the first 60 days, so you have nothing to lose. You will not return it if you have had any experience at all with similar mattress toppers in the past. This topper is a real game changer! We will NEVER go without this topper again and we plan to now buy one for each of our adult children. I bet we are gonna get the parents of the year award!!

Terrible product and worse seller! The topper started breaking down 60 days into its use. The middle sagged and the edges collapsed under weight. Physically, the topper looked fine, as it is foam that can support its own weight. In use, however, it was of no value. I contacted the seller and they did everything possible to stall and delay. They asked for pictures many times despite being told that the product failure was not visible. They asked for the same information over and over again. I was kicked from agent to agent, and always was refused access to a supervisor. The foam is 3" thick, and they, after many emails, virtually said there is not warranty unless there is a 1.5" visible defect. Stated differently, there is not relief until 50% of the product totally breads down. This means, there is no warranty until half of the foam collapses under its own weight. I suspect that is physically impossible. The seller dragged this out for two months. All along, they acted like the warranty would be honored, but then they slammed the door on discussions after all return and refund remedies expired. The product did near nothing for me from the start. It broke down and became totally defective in a very short time. The seller was not honorable or understanding. In my opinion, run from this topper, and avoid dealing with this seller at all cost.

Nice way to extend the life of a mattress. Very comfy.

Not firm at all but it does bounce back well. Definitely would have preferred a firmer piece of foam. I've also had this mattress in open air for 2 weeks and it still smells. I will give it one more week otherwise I will return it.
