I get through a great deal of these, almost every night I use a pair in winter and the surrounding colder months, as I'm in the habit of a long night walk before bed every day and would otherwise get frostbite, even through thermal gloves. I put one in each glove and that's that, toasty hands for the whole journey. These last a long time, if I start them at 10pm, they're still giving off noticeable heat at 7am the next day and remain at near peak output for at least four hours from the outset - they do get very hot if confined, might be too warm for some people in some situations, but I often keep them in my chest pocket or gloves and throw them in my bed when I get home to help in the night, no bother, just a good product. Disposable, yes, but it's essentially just a material pocket filled with iron fillings, for the main, initially sealed in a thin plastic wrap - they react with air to activate, the plastic wrapper is non-negotiable.

These are incredible. I put them in my mittens when I’m out walking then put them in my pocket for the rest of the day. They get lovely and hot and last more than eight hours. Worked highly recommend. Will be buying more.

These stay warm all day, best if activated a little while before activity so they warm up. I keep mine for those days I know they will be most needed and carry them in a pocket so I can pop them into my hands as soon as I feel the need. Very pleased with them.

I think this is a fantastic product. I suffer from cold hands and use these from Autumn to Spring. I also use them when camping. They last far longer than expected and are just the right size to go in gloves or a sleeping bag. In the past I have bought similar items in ski resorts but find buying them in Uk and taking them with me gives me better quality at a better price.Never had a dud pair in the Uk. All my family now use them.

The packages have starters to make it easy to tear open one or both pouches. I like that I can open only one if I don't need two. It takes a little bit to warm up, but then it's toasty and keeps me warm for many hours. At first, I would only use them if I knew I'd be outside for a long period of time, but now, I find them useful indoors too. I usually start by opening one or two to warm up my robe pockets on a cold morning, then I put them in my coat when I take a walk on a cold day, then I'll transfer them to a sweater pocket and eventually tuck them into a blanket I keep outside for a neighborhood cat who looks cold when the sun isn't shining. The heat lasts for a long time, and I've found it more comfortable and economical than increasing the heat for the whole house.Update 11/25/2012After reading other reviews, I am updating mine to share that the "HOT" part of "Hot Hands" seems a bit misleading. Each person has their idea of what "hot" means. These are more hand WARMERs. They feel warmer tucked into a pocket than in my gloves, and warmer still when I fold one into my scarf, around my collar. The longer I have these in my pockets, as the hours pass, the warmer they get. Rarely would I say they feel "hot". I too have found that a cup that's just had boiling water poured into it is feels hotter, but I can't tuck that into my clothing, plus in short order a cup of hot water cools down.In this last box of warmers, which have an expiration date of 02/15/2012, I did have a couple of duds that barely got warm; and I got a couple that got unusually hot - which is likely what most people are expecting and why there is a burn hazard warning. That warning may lead us to believe that these will ALL get "hot" but from my recent experience with the HAND WARMERS, that's rarely the case. Typically, they get very "warm" in my opinion, which works very well for me.After reading more of the complains about this product, I decided to order the hand and body size. I'm curious to see if the size of the bag influences the amount of heat produced. I am still happy with the hand warmers for my use. When I am outside, I am mobile, I don't sit so my experience may be different than most.

I bought many other brands and this is the only brand I know that truly lasted what the label says.

We use these frequently as we live in a climate with cold winters and we love to be outdoors. The price was great and they work as advertised. They are small and soft so fit inside a mitten or a boot without being bulky. They are especially nice when I need to take the dog out regardless of the weather! They do take 10 minutes to get warm so you need to be prepared to open the package and give the warmer a shake to activate before going out in the cold. The warmth is at it's maximum in about half an hour. 10 hours is probably an exaggeration as there is very little warmth left in them by then. It stays really warm for about 2 hours and then gradually becomes less effective. I was worried about the expiration date since it wasn't listed in the ad. However, the date on my box of warmers is 2021 so we will certainly use this box up by then. I might recommend that the seller add the expiration date into the listing.
