I cannot say enough about the quality of this wire. I've read many reviews on this and other spools of 12-2 speaker wire and can tell you I was blown away when I opened the box. While reading reviews on this and other spools, I noticed that at times you will read the statement "true 12 gauge" and I wasn't sure what it meant. I had purchase a roll of 12AWG wire years ago for another set up from another vendor....and still had some left on the spool. My plan was to use the rest of the old spool and pull a line from the new spool at the same time so I could simply cut the end of both wires at the same time so I wouldn't have to waste any wire. when I opened the box of this spool of wire and looked at the thickness of the wire, I thought it looked much thicker than my other spool which still has the 12-2 label on it. I thought that the thick plastic sheathing on the new spool must be magnifying the thickness. Not so.... this spool's wire is so much thicker than my other supposedly 12-2 wire! My mind went back to another person who left feedback on this product earlier stating that he thought this was more like 10-2 wire. So, I was forced to forgo using the old wire and pulled both using the new heavier duty wire. Not only is the wire much thicker, but so too is the plastic sheathing. I can't express what high quality this wire is. The strands are many and thin, which if I am not mistaken is also a sign of higher quality. The size of this spool compared to the size of my other 500 foot 12-2 spool dwarfs it. The price of this spool was an incredible deal when I purchased it at $149.99 for 500 feet. I cannot recommend this product more highly!

What makes this product particularly good is the fact that it is multi (small) stranded conductor wires. As it turns out, AC (audio) uses the skin of each strand of wire for electrical conduction, unlike direct current (DC), because of the physics of electricity, rather than the "internal" copper which is what is used for DC, so by making the wire comprised of very many very small strands, this works best for carrying AC (audio) current, and reduces the (impedance) AC resistance of the wire, so that the amplifier output impedance is working against the speaker impedance rather than wasting the energy of the amplifier on heating up the wires. This is more efficient, and it produces the best sound out of the speakers, and it simplifies the matching of the speakers to the amplifier output. This is a very high quality wire product, and the price is very reasonable. My compliments to the seller. I will only purchase this product for my speaker connection needs. Also the product was delivered very quickly, and the quality was much better than I was expecting. This is the product to purchase for your speaker connection needs!!!

I recently purchased this speaker cable as a part of a complete overhaul of my home audio system. After shopping around on Amazon, I settled on this cable because it seemed like the best combination of quality and value. The one question I had that wasn't answered on the item's page was whether or not the cable was constructed using oxygen free copper, but after one quick phone call to the seller I was assured that all of GLS' cables were constructed using oxygen free copper. The cable arrived promptly and was well packaged. I was pleasantly surprised with the heft of the cable. The seller advertises that their AWG measured copper is often significantly heavier than competitors using non-standardized gauge measurement methods, and I would not disagree. My first visual impression of the cable was very positive. The cable is well built using thick insulation and beautifully wound copper. After installation, I am equally pleased with the sound quality. My audio comes through crystal clear with no hints of degradation or interference. Overall I would highly recommend this cable to anyone looking for high quality speaker cable no matter what their budget. I will definitely be ordering more cables from GLS in the future.

I purchased this speaker wire after looking at several other brands, hoping to get away from Monster and their high prices. I've never been dissatisfied with the quality of Monster products, only the price. Also, I've always believed that "you get what you pay for." Well, I'm happy to say I feel like I've accomplished that and some with my choice. The speaker wire arrived timely and is exactly as stated in the discription. The spool measuered 50 ft. exactly(yeah...I measured it)and appeared to be excellent quality. Now, this isn't 100% copper, you can see the hint of aluminum when looking at the end of the wire, directly in the center of the wire. But I don't recall GLS Audio ever claiming it to be 100% copper,only reffering to it as premium 12 gauge wire. I didn't analyze the exact amount of copper to aluminum, but I can tell you there is alot of copper in this wire. Probably 90% or more, well within the boundries of "premium". I used it to bi-wire my Paradigm monitor 7's and the sound is incredible. I highly recommend GLS Audio and their 12 guage premium wire. I purchased two 50 ft. spools, my only complaint is I would have preferred one 100 ft. spool. But, as it is, it was no big deal.

I purchased this 500ft length 12 gauge speaker wire to rewire the sides, rear surrounds, and presence speakers in my Home Theater system. Since I have 17 speaker channels (excluding 4 x subwoofers), of which only 14 channels are currently being utilized I needed plenty of heavy-gauge, high-quality speaker wire without having to pay an arm-and-a-leg. The answer was in this 500ft roll of 12 gauge copper wiring from GLS Audio. Honestly, I could hear a slight difference from the Monster Cable Z3 and Z4 cables which cost around $850 a pair when they originally came out but that would be an unfair comparison. When I compare the GLS Audio Premium speaker wire to Monster speaker wire of the same gauge, I do not hear ANY difference although I paid much more for the Monster brand. I am very happy with the high value proposition provided by this product.
