MAJORITY D40x Active Bookshelf Speakers | Bluetooth HiFi Speakers with 70 Watts, Kevlar Yellow
The MAJORITY D40x Active Bookshelf Speakers offer an impressive blend of style, power, and sound quality that make them a strong contender in the budget-friendly HiFi speaker market. With their vibrant Kevlar yellow woofers, these speakers not only catch the eye but also deliver a surprisingly rich and detailed audio experience for their price range. Design and Build Quality The first thing that stands out about the D40x is its bold design. The Kevlar yellow woofers are a distinctive feature that adds a pop of color to any setup. The cabinets are compact yet sturdy, making them suitable for various spaces, from desktop setups to small living rooms. The build quality is solid, with a well-finished exterior that feels durable and premium despite the affordable price tag. Sound Performance For a set of speakers in this price range, the MAJORITY D40x delivers commendable audio quality. The 70-watt output provides more than enough power to fill a room with sound. The Kevlar drivers are particularly effective at producing clear mid-range frequencies, which is crucial for vocal clarity and detail in music. The bass response is deep and punchy, though it might lack the thump that bass enthusiasts seek. The highs are crisp, although they can occasionally border on sharpness at higher volumes. Bluetooth and Connectivity The inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity adds a layer of convenience, allowing for wireless streaming from smartphones, tablets, or other devices. The pairing process is straightforward, and the connection is stable within the typical Bluetooth range. Additionally, the speakers come equipped with RCA and AUX inputs, making them versatile for wired connections to various audio sources, such as turntables, TVs, or PCs. User Experience Setting up the D40x is a breeze, thanks to the plug-and-play nature of the speakers. The controls are intuitive, with easy access to volume adjustment and input selection on the rear panel. The remote control, while basic, is a useful addition for those who prefer to adjust settings from a distance. Value for Money The MAJORITY D40x Active Bookshelf Speakers offer excellent value for their price. They provide a well-rounded audio performance that surpasses expectations for budget speakers, particularly in the mid-range clarity and overall sound balance. The added bonus of Bluetooth connectivity and the eye-catching design make them a great option for those looking to upgrade their audio setup without breaking the bank. Conclusion Overall, the MAJORITY D40x Active Bookshelf Speakers are a fantastic choice for anyone seeking stylish, powerful, and versatile speakers at an affordable price. Whether you’re using them for music, movies, or casual listening, these speakers deliver a satisfying audio experience that will impress both casual listeners and audiophiles alike. Rating: 4.5/5

Amazing Audio at an Amazing Price
I've always asked myself, if you had to lose one thing, your hearing or your sight, which would you choose? That's an age old question. As a photographer, if I lost my sight, I'd lose my profession. I love watching films, always have. Going to the cinema is the highlight of my week, the video shop was my local library and the telly is one of my best friends. But, I'll always choose music, hands (ears) down. Nothing compares. I've been on the lookout for an upgrade to my old, now decrepit setup for quite a while now. Every time I'd try some research, scouring the minefield that is The Internet", I'd get lost in a myriad of mixed reviews. And all seem to veer towards the premium, with "You get what you pay for" and, for most parts, this is true. Alas, I'm not able to hang with the big boys with their even bigger pockets, but I love music, no, I adore music. Not a day goes by without music. It soundtracks my life. I'll be honest, I'd never heard of Majority. But the reviews were all very positive, the price was definitely in my range but as we all know, the Internet is very adept at pulling the wool. Sod it! I'll give them a go... Wow! Straight out of the box, these sound incredible. Easy to setup, smaller than my old speakers but boy do they pack a punch! Not losing any clarity at the top end either. The Bluetooth setup was a breeze and the remote control is an excellent bonus. I was initially worried that the size of the D40X wouldn't fill my living room but they do with abundance. They also look and feel like premium speakers. I've had them for a week now, and I'm more than impressed. Even my family, who admittedly, dont share my affection for audio were all blown away with quality. Well done Majority. You've not only ticked all my boxes but done it without costing me a fortune or compromising on quality. Proof that great audio doesn't just belong to the silver spoon set. You've made a new fan.

Great quality and simplicity
After browsing several products, I stumbled across a newer version of bookshelf speakers. These are so simple to setup, straight out the box plug in and play. The quality of packaging and design makes these really easy to use. In addition with a remote, again the simplicity of using the remote for different functions. It's really easy to switch modes, switch devices and is perfect for my setup at home. The sound quality is perfect, and I've still yet to test them at full volume, even at half way these are very loud! Clear, bespoke and lightweight to move around. Having tried bluetooth, AUX and USB again this makes it so easy to switch modes. I also like the feature when connecting devices - it will tell you automatically when these are connected/disconnected making it easier to pair devices. They also work great with paired with Fitzwilliam 3, luxury design at a great price! I was also surprised to find not only a 12 month warranty as standard, but register within 30 days and receive an extended 2 year warranty, you really can't get better than that!

Wow... packs a punch!
I had to purchase a new set of speakers to replace my Creative SBS E2900. While the sound quality of these speakers is very good, the Bluetooth connectively dropped regularly and, when reconnected, the sound generated was low quality and muffled. I would then have to power off the device and turn it back on again to re set it. As I own several Majority products (including the excellent Snowdon II soundbar) and haven’t been let down yet, I purchased these D40X shelf speakers without hesitation. The speakers are sleek and look great; the design is understated and tasteful, and would blend into any décor. But more importantly, they pack a punch! As you’ll see and hear from the video, the sound is crystal clear and the bass is powerful thanks to the 4” bass drivers (both bass and treble levels can be controlled via the remote control). When I turned up the volume, I didn’t even reach the midway point, so you can imagine the range these 70-watt speakers are capable of reaching. I’ve had the speakers going non-stop for two hours, and happy to report that thus far, there has been no drop in Bluetooth connection (which you would expect from the latest 5.3 Bluetooth connectivity that comes installed). The price point is what you would expect for something of this quality; as they say, if you buy cheap, you buy twice. I personally think these speakers are well worth the money and, as with all Majority products, they come with a 3-year extended warranty if you register them via the Majority website. Overall, I’m over the moon with these speakers; I think Majority is proving itself to be a brand to be reckoned with.

Excellent performing speakers for the price and size
Great speakers, clear sound with good bass and responsive reproduction. Slight annoyance that the minimum volume is still quite loud, so not that great for quiet nighttime music, but otherwise couldn't be happier. Dead easy to set up with bluetooth, and they look great and have the appearance and performance of much bigger and more expensive speakers. Would prefer a longer connecting cable as positioning is hampered by the short length of the inbuilt one.

Great speakers and functionality
Great speakers. Great sound with great functionality. 70W power output each and a really good weight for a shelf speaker. Adjustable bass and treble is a fantastic feature. Bluetooth, aux input, optical input, SD card slot and USB card slot. Having a remote control is very handy too. Being picky, I would have liked a single male to female RCA extension lead because the lead coming off the back of the passive speaker is only 1 metre long. My speakers are 5 metres apart so I had to purchase an RCA extension lead. But, very happy with the speakers and the price.

Majority D40X Real World Review
To be short and sweet, I fancied reducing the cables adorning my desk but improve the sound, I can’t work in silence, and I appreciate quality audio! So, having had a Majority Oakington for a few years now and being very impressed with the clear but bassy sound it produces, I thought I’d go for the D40X to replace my 2.1 system in the office. Boom!! What a cracking decision! 70 Watts of yet more clear but bassy sound, loving it. Quick points to shout about are the multiple connectivity methods, v5.3 Bluetooth, memory card, aux and optical meaning you can link them to your phone, laptop, TV or even an AMP! Sexy yellow Kevlar cones on the 4” bass drivers which don’t mind the volume being cranked up so you can see them wobble. Oh, and the sheer delight of pealing the protective film off the front of both the speakers during unboxing, almost my favourite part. The only draw back I can mention is the lack of visual scale for the bass and treble adjustments, you do get quite the tone when you reach the minimum and maximum levels, same for the volume. I’ve put them through their paces with metal. Acoustic, drum & bass and house music, the quality of the audio is fantastic for the very reasonable price that these 2.0 speakers are. Next thing I need to do is buy a desk with elevated speaker stands to really appreciate what these can do. My advice, BUY THEM!!

SPEAKERS!!
Great speakers, really solid feel to them with plenty of low end..... There is adjustment on the remote for bass/treble and even though the remote is very basic, it has everything you'll need to operate from a distance.... There is also additional controls on the right side of the 'primary' speaker for connectivity options. Haven't been able to give them a full road test as I live in a flat but the day they arrived, I did tease them to almost a 3rd of my usual level on a couple of choice songs and they are nothing but a mini powerhouse that will go way further and also the yellow kevlar cone is a great addition to an already classy looking and well built speaker. These have technically replaced my old 'M-AUDIO' AV42's which gave up after 7 years or so acting as my studio monitors and were great but I currently have the D40X's set up to handle my music and media from MacBook so will be interesting to learn how they operate as a studio monitor once I've reorganised my recording layout. All in all, a great speaker

Decent speakers, amazing price
These are awesome for the price, got mine for $118 , couldn't be happier. Plenty loud for the size, bass is adequate, heaps of connections, they look good as well. Only criticism is a visual indicator of the treble, bass and volume would be handy , but otherwise I highly recommend these

Honest Review
Absolutely love these speakers. I have these on mounts in my home office and the Bluetooth feature is great I also have a line in input going into the speakers and amazed at the sound quality and ease to change the mode for input either on the remote or on the side of the right speaker. These speakers sound amazing and well worth the price. Don’t pass these up!!
