STYLE I did *a lot* of searching for a dog house with doors to utilize as a crate. I am just not a fan of the wire crates and didn't like most of the "furniture" looking crates/side tables - just my personal taste and style. I absolutely love, love this dog house crate and the puppies took to it right away! SIZE The medium feels more like a large. It's a really great size. I have two pomsky puppies that are sharing this crate and they have lots of room to grow into it. I have two puppies and wanted them to be able to relax in their side by side when the doors were open as well, so this house's setup is perfect! PRICE It is much more reasonable than the common WLO houses you see everywhere. ASSEMBLY It did take me a while to put together but it was super easy. I was also taking my time and going a bit slow. RECOMMENDATION I would 1000% recommend this dog house.

I actually did spend $300+ for a wood crate from Etsy that we loved, and was on the hunt to find another one that was similar, but a little bit smaller yet not to small for my 42 lb pup, and hopefully at a lower price point. I found that almost every brand I found, the large would be too big and the next size down would be too small but this a happy medium. This crate is totally perfect, and was a breeze to assemble compared to the one from etsy! Just a disclaimer, this is probably ideal for dogs that are crate trained, or crate training young puppies. Definitely not designed to withstand a super crate anxious pup that’s going to be thrashing around, but only so many crates are!

My 3lb maybe 8” max poodle was able to get out of this within the first few hours. He escaped right through the big gap at the top between the roof and the wall. My other 7lb dog was also able to escape because the “roof” is just a plastic sheet attached with Velcro. This was a waste of money for what I need.

I confess I hired a Task Rabbit to assemble it - no surprises. All the parts were present and no damage during shipping. It looks good and is a clean piece of furniture to the eye - better than wire crates. Note that the sliding doors are held closed by the small bottom latch only so this isn’t a good choice if your dog tries to escape the crate. Also the interior measurement is accurate- this is one inch shorter than a 36” crate so plan your crate pad to accommodate. I like this especially given the solid wood versions are thousands of dollars.
