How's the handle texture for wet/sweaty grip?

Not good, for wet or sweaty hands, the knife will probably slip out. Otherwise, a very good knife for the price, with a premium feel even compared to a Benchmade, actually much better than a Benchmade. The axis lock and pivot are much smoother than the latter.

Why does the handle feel like plastic?

The handle is aluminum on the Iridium if it feels like plastic maybe you have a different model?
