Fantastic User-Friendly Core XY (7 mo review)
Originally purchased this printed in July of 2024, completing a 7-month review.Overall, very impressed with this budget friendly printer. With nearly 15 years of 3D printing experience (commercial Fortus machines) and 7+ of “hobbyist” experience, I can honestly say that this is the most user-friendly printer I’ve worked with or owned.Unlike the many Creality Ender kits, and even K1 Max that I’ve owned, this printer just works. Straight out of the box. No tinkering. No faulty parts. No manual calibration. The unboxing and setup process is simple, though if you’re new to printing be sure to follow the instructions verbatim to avoid Z height and leveling issues.A FEW OF THE PROS:The print head is very well designed and the quick-change nozzle is incredibly simple. I hope that aftermarket parts manufacturers (or even Flash Forge) will support with hardened steel and carbon fiber-ready nozzles. While the price per nozzle is a bit high, you’re paying for an unbelievable convenience when swapping nozzles.Filament loading/swapping is stupid simple. To unload, simply follow the on-screen prompts and cut the filament near the extruder. The printer does the rest. Insanely simple. The touchscreen has the second-best UI of any I’ve used (following the Bambu Labs X1-Carbon closely) and has a built-in USB port for local printing. The gantry is designed for upgrades, such as a printable enclosure, lighting and a camera. Again, fantastic at this price point. No bed warping or level issues. This can not be understated when comparing to similar printers in the price range (Creality, to be specific).THE ONE AND ONLY CON:Flash Forge’s slicer is pretty rough. Well, to be fair, the latest slicer is. There are two slicers… it’s confusing really. “Flash Print” and “Orca-Flashforge.” AVOID USING FLASHPRINT. Again, avoid using Flashprint. The presets are horrendous and manual control is limited. I would be willing to bet that the reviews speaking of failed prints are due to this software, not the printer. Orca-Flashforge is the ever-popular Orca slicer repackaged for this printer, and is fantastic. Download and spend the extra 10 mins watching tutorials on YouTube if you’re unfamiliar. Your prints will improve, you’ll still be able to print wirelessly, and as you become an advanced user you will squeeze every ounce of capability out of the printer. All without manual configuration.FINAL THOUGHTS:Honestly, I wish I purchased this printer sooner and avoided some of the competition altogether. For 90% of home 3D printer hobbyists, this printer does everything and more than you’re looking for, especially with the printed enclosure.Best core XY 3D printer under $700. Period.

Flashforge Adventurer 5M: A Beginner's Dream & Printing Beast!
If you're looking for an incredible 3D printing experience, especially if you're new to the hobby, look no further than the FLASHFORGE Adventurer 5M 3D Printer. I am genuinely blown away by this machine – it's truly a marvel. The build quality is immediately apparent; the robust, all-metal Core XY structure inspires confidence. After performing the initial calibration steps, my first print was incredibly impressive, showing off the printer's precision and speed right away.Beyond its ease of use once set up, the prints themselves are stunning. The 600mm/s high-speed doesn't sacrifice quality, producing crisp, accurate models every time. The quick-detachable 280°C nozzle adds immense convenience for filament swaps or maintenance, making it a truly versatile machine within its 220x220x220mm build volume. The automatic bed leveling works great and ensures great prints, this machine is very compact and space efficient. The only thing is the power switch is in the back, i would have liked it to be to the front.Flashforge has delivered an amazing product here. I'm thoroughly impressed and will definitely buy any of their products. This machine is a testament to what a affordable 3D printer should be!

Good Printer, please read warning.
Shipping was fast.Install easy. If not there is plenty of support and videos to help someone if lost.WARNING: Do not put filament sample that is shipped with this printer on its holder. Doing so may cause damage to the machine. Ask me how I know. My filament sample was wounded up and I thought I Had it completely untangled and set the filament on its designed location but since this filament doesn’t come on a roll the filament just has a mind of its own. My filament was no longer sliding and ended up becoming too tight for the printer to pull the filament to the nozzle. I may have a damaged product now because of this. We will see. And I will update weather support is helpful or not.I’m a complete amateur on 3D design and the printing process. I did run TinkerCad and was able to print a few things with a little bit of a learning curve. Without YouTube I would have been lost. Best of luck.UPDATED: It has taken time for me to learn how to design things and after a few weeks I put this printer to use. Long story short, this printer has failed me after 7 different prints. I mean actual printers where something takes 30 mins to 3 hours to complete. My failure started when I was printing things back to back trying to fine tone my design and I ended up with a lot of Filament in a large blob pile instead of any sort of design. I tried to clean the nozzle right quick and try my luck again but I only ended up with a smaller blob of plastic. I decided to give the printer a rest and to try my design again but only doing one part on the layout instead of 2 or 3. This didn't go so well. The printer didn't go home or calibrate correctly on its on and when it started to print the nozzle dug into the base plate causing deem scoring marks. I tried to buff them out and the plate is probably going to be ok for what i need out of the printer but that's not the issue now. My issue continues to be filament not coming out when changing filament. More so I cant get the printer to even print a practice cube. I've tried completely cleaning the nozzle, removed the extruder and filament completely and made sure the extruder gears are messed with no missing or broken wheel cogs or teeth and watched the gears spin and feed the filament into the nozzle. My nozzle temp gets up to 280 degrees but still things are not feeding or spray out even the smallest practice designs. I cant even get a line up mark on the base plate. This printer is supposedly suppose to be simple and great for beginners. With my background in fixing robots and machinery this thing is giving me hell. I can only hope flash forge does away with this model.I would love nothing more than my money back or a newer model this thing needs to go in the trash. I had a feeling things would go south after the issue at setup and they did.
