More reliable LED lighting
A great improvement over tungsten bulbs

Extremely bright
I ordered this to replace a blown bulb in my DeLonghi microwave. The bulb fits well and obviously being an LED bulb does consume less power however it is extremely bright and white compared to a standard filament bulb, quite probably double if not triple the brightness to the standard bulb in my microwave so do take this into account when considering using these style bulbs.Prise wise at £7.99 for a twin bulb pack I feel this is very reasonable bearing in mind some of the non LED bulbs are priced higher than this for single bulbs.Overall I'm happy with my purchase however as mentioned these are a very bright white light bulb and if you prefer the more yellowish light then I'd suggest going for a warmer white than a bright white but for their quality and ability I'm more than happy to recommend them.

A Bright, Energy-Efficient Upgrade for Your Microwave
I recently purchased the 3W Z187 Microwave Bulb 2A 240V LED, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. This bulb provides a crisp, 5000K daylight white light that is noticeably brighter and clearer than the original incandescent bulb in my microwave. It’s perfect for illuminating the inside of the microwave, making it easier to see how food is cooking, even in the darkest kitchen.Pros:Energy Efficient: At just 3 watts, these LED bulbs consume far less energy than the traditional 25-30W incandescent bulbs they replace. I appreciate the potential savings on my energy bill.Bright and Clear: The 5000K daylight white colour temperature is bright and true to daylight, making it easier to see inside the microwave. It's a significant improvement over the yellowish light from my old bulb.Long-Lasting: While I haven't used these for long, LEDs generally have a much longer lifespan compared to incandescent bulbs. I expect these to last for years without needing a replacement.Easy Installation: These bulbs were a direct replacement and fit perfectly in my microwave socket. The installation took less than a minute.Cons:Slightly Higher Cost: These bulbs are a bit more expensive upfront compared to traditional incandescent bulbs, but the energy savings and longevity should more than make up for them over time. Not Dimmer-Compatible: These LEDs are not compatible with dimmable microwave functions, which wasn't a dealbreaker for me but might be for some users. In summary, the Z187 LED microwave bulbs are an excellent choice if you're looking to replace your old microwave bulb with something more energy-efficient and brighter. They offer great value in the long run, even though they might be slightly more expensive initially. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their microwave lighting.

3W Z187 Microwave Bulb 2A 240V LED, 5000K Daylight
Unfortunately I had to return these the same day. Both bulbs initially lit up but quickly started glowing dimmer and dimmer before eventually stopping altogether.I tested them in the microwave as intended, but neither one lasted more than a short time before failing. It seemed like they were trying to start but couldn’t maintain proper brightness.Build quality looked fine at first glance, but the reliability just wasn’t there in my case.Because both bulbs behaved the same way, I ended up returning them straight away.

Jolly good, but check the mounting hole diameter!
These lamps are brighter than their incandescent equivalents and I hope they'll also last longer, based on my positive experience with LED cooker hood lamps. But before ordering, check the size of any holes they need to poke through. The diameter of the glass part is about 24.5 mm, which is a couple of millimetres bigger than the mounting hole on my basic Tower microwave. In my case the steel plate turned out to be very thin, and it was easy enough to detach it and enlarge the hole with a file. But it was an unexpected faff, and also entails poking your fingers rather close to the deadly 4 kV capacitor (I used a 10 kΩ/5W resistor to discharge it safely). The metal edges can be sharp, too. So take care if you need to make any modifications, or perhaps look for a lamp that's slightly slimmer.

Rather dull and cold
It is rather dim and a very cold light compared to the Panasonic original it replaced. I was prepared for a cool light appearance at 5000K but not the dullness.
