The best book we have bought for the choir in a long time.
Listening to BBC's "Songs of Praise" and some of the great hymns sung with some fabulous descants prompted the purchase of this fine book. We have not had the books long, but the choirmaster says that we have had value for money already. The Sopranos love it and they get to learn a new descant each week. Not that we have never done descants before! Far from it, but with them being all in one book, it makes our sopranos want for more as there are lots of new ones which are more challenging! But the rest of the choir love the descants as well. Descants certainly add a new dimension to our worship. It gives the choir a lot of satisfaction when you see the surprise on the faces of members of the congregation. They start to smile and their eyes light up and it gives everyone a boost. It is worth remembering that a descant is not just for Christmas.
