Why did you pick this product vs others?: Already had the battery and this charger worked great. Price was reasonable.

First time I tried to charge one of my B&D Firestorm 18v batteries, I plugged the battery into the charger first and then the charger into the wall outlet. After only a few hours the battery became extremely hot to the touch and was smelling like it was burnt. Second time around I actually followed the instructions, plugged the charger in first, then battery, and the auto-off function actually worked! So far well worth what I paid to keep an older tool useful

Works well. I found an old 14.4V drill and light combo but the charger didn't work. Bought this as a replacement. Simple and works well.

This charger works great for the older Black & Decker 14.4v batteries. I originally thought I had dead batteries that wouldn't charge. But I found out that it wasn't the batteries it was my charger. Theses chargers are not easy to find and this one does the trick.

The battery component fits perfectly into the plug in component.
