Great price for awesome quality
Great product, awesome design to me but a great price here in Belgium. I searched the web for reviews and a decent price for a quality subwoofer. 499 euros was a lot for a first sub for an entry range but decent first home cinema. And then there was Amazon.uk, : 2.38 times less price despite an amount for handling and shipping (well, its a 18 kilos sub). It works just perfect, an excellent bass: not too shaky, not to strong if you set it right. My set in a 18m² room: STR-DH790 and Eltax speakers. It adds the coherence to the whole, coherence I was looking for. I hope it will last long.

Would of been a good product if it worked !

It is quite a long unit so it may not fit in easily in some home set-ups
This is a definite improvement over my previous passive subwoofer. It seems to work well with my Onkyo AV receiver. It does take a little tweaking to get right but the controls allow for most people to maximise it's potential in whatever set-up it is part of. It is quite a long unit so it may not fit in easily in some home set-ups. It does produce good tight bass sounds and has enough rumble for movies. I don't really use this for music, mainly for movie soundtracks, so can't really comment on its performance, though I suspect it would do very well for music too.

I really like music and I had a really tough time setting ...
I really like music and I had a really tough time setting this up with some stubborn speakers. After about 4 months of playing with the cross over and volume I either had too much bass with a muddy sound (setting to 150hz to AV) or by setting the crossover to 80hz I had lost mid range and vocals. In the end I hit sweet spot by reducing the bass level from the amp and setting the crossover to 150hz/AV and boosting the volume on the amp higher. This is harder to set up than a simple 2.0 system and I don't believe the crossover works all that well.

excellent sub.
excellent sub for the money, very responsive, keep up with the fastest of action and excellent for music. The range of base is superb down to deep enough to vibrate the floor to a nice rolling base from highs to lows.

Discrete & powerful sub
Quality product, bought to replace another well known brand sub. Significant improvement - tighter more controlled & musical bass on musical soundtrack parts but also plenty of percussive attack & rumble when the action starts. It’s also a fairly slim and relatively discreet unit (we have ours tucked underneath a side table)No hesitation in recommending to other potential buyers.

Not a subwoofer!
Although I did not buy this item from Amazon, I did buy it direct from Q Acoustics. The item arrived, I set it up and was wholely disappointed by, well, everything really. It turns out the lowest frequency the speaker goes to is 50hz (my floor standing speakers go lower) and the unit emitted a dreadful hum...it sounded awful. So I packed it back up and returned the thing to get a full refund. The customer service from Q Acoustics was shocking and I didn't receive my refund until a month and a half after they'd received it! I instead purchased a Klipsch subwoofer and am happily getting low end frequencies!Would I recommend this "subwoofer"...NO absolutely NOT! Don't waste your time or money on this garbage, invest in a proper subwoofer that can hit the low end frequencies... This "subwoofer" can't!

great subwoofer at a reasonable price
I had the choice between a pricy subwoofer here in Austria at a local store and this nice subwoofer sold by Amazon UK. All I can say - it was a great grab. In comparison with the other subwoofer, this one has a warm and hearty sound - nearly the English one from the 80s. It has a high level input and a line in for the sub out of an AV receiver as well, enough settings to adapt it to your room. Not cheap but worthy. Strongly recommended.
