Great, smooth with smokey aftertaste
Got a raise at work and decided to upgrade from the cheaper Cuervo I usually get. This one is soooo much better than Olmeca, Cazca-something, the Trader Joe's one (in the U.S.) and I even prefer it over Casamigos and Patron. If you like the smokey aftertaste, this one is nearly as good as Casa Noble, but the Noble, which is excellent is over 20 buck more per 70 ml. Happy to say that Don Alberto will become my new regular (when it's in stock) worth the dollar and a bit extra per glass.

Don't Buy if you don't like Mezcal
I'm a seasoned tequila drinker, I stress TEQUILA, I saw the reviews and checked it on tequila matchmaker, and should have stuck to my guns when it kept saying smoke! This is supposedly a tequila blanco but stored briefly in old mezcal barrels, the result is not a tequila blanco but a mezcal. All I can taste is smoke and minimal agave and black pepper, etc, with a bit of burn. When I saw that the distiller was Alberto Partida, although I'm not a fan of Partida, thought there may have been a chance that it would be a half decent blanco with minimal smoke, but alas I was wrong, good job it was on offer, but I'll stick with my over proof blancos that you can actually taste agave etc.If you're a smokey Scotch drinker, dabbling in tequila, you may like it, but it isn't a true representation of a tequila blanco, so perhaps you'd be better off starting with mezcal in the first place?!

Buttery smooth smoky Tequila!
I'm a seasoned whisky drinker looking to venture into the world of Tequila. This Don Alberto Tequila Blanco is the first one I have tried and I'm impressed with its flavour.Tasting profile (using a whisky-tasting nosing glass):Nose: Floral, eucalyptus, fruit, citrus, mint, and spice.Taste: Smoky and earthy, slightly bitter with black pepper and mint notes, finished with a balanced sweetness - Medium body with a buttery smooth aftertaste.I like to add a tiny bit of ice and allow it to sit for a short while. It goes down very nicely indeed.Anyone not fond of peated whiskies (medicinal flavours), may not appreciate this Tequila. However, I don't think it's too smoky (not to the level of some heavily peated drams)I'm enjoying it!

Sipping the essence of Mexico
There's an art to crafting a fine tequila, and this one captures it beautifully. From the first sip, the fresh, citrusy notes danced on my palate, with undertones of butter adding depth and richness. Each taste seemed to tell a story of the Highlands of Jalisco, where the blue weber agave is sourced. Sipping it neat was a pleasure, but it also made a fine base for cocktails. This silver tequila possesses a clarity and vibrancy that speaks to its quality. Beyond the drink itself, the bottle's design hints at the craftsmanship within. A true ode to Mexican heritage.

Crisp
This is a nice tequila. It is certainly better than the stuff that i drunkenly drink in the pub. I liked it more than other highly recommended tequilas.

Mind blown. Whisky lovers will find a new passion
I love my single malt whisky, and navy or aged rums from the Caribbean. I've never thought of tequila as anything other than a drink poured in a shot glass and served with salt and lemon to get rid of the taste as fast as possible. But lately there has been a large amount of publicity about high quality tequilas and I decided to try a dram. I am overjoyed that I did this is nothing like the cheap bottles of my youth. It truly is an entire new experience for even a seasoned whisky enthusiast. This arrives in a 750ml bottle but is filled with 700ml so it looks like the distillers poured a drink for themselves before sealing the bottle but it's just their style. You haven't been short changed.Gran reserva de Don Alberto Tequila Blanco is made with 100% agave Azul, it's rolled and fired in clay ovens before being fermented and distilled. Of course with any true tequila it's made in Mexico. Even though this is a white spirit that has not been aged in wood it is remarkable how much aroma and flavour it has.As this is a high quality spirit I sampled it neat in a short bell or brandy glass to capture the aromas with a separate glass of water to refresh the palate. If you're not used to drinking spirits neat it is still delicious over ice or with a dash of water. This would also make for a luxurious cocktail.Aroma is sweet and tingles the nose. Hints of vanilla and pepper. There's a freshness and underlying herb or plant that I can't quite identify but adds freshness and smells interesting.Taste. Instant sweetness and honey, with a very subtle vanilla hint. It then builds to smoke and pepper that then slowly fades to a smooth velvety mouth feel and sweetness returns, and eventually as that fades a hint of the herb or plant I can't quite identify, maybe anise. This is a very smooth sipping tequila with barrels (pardon the pun) of flavour. If you want to try a high quality tequila this is it 100%. If a friend likes their tequila or whisky give them this as a gift and they will thank you. This may be a bit lively for Gin drinkers unless they have an open mind.Value wise this is priced on par with high end Gin or a half decent single malt. The quality of it speaks volumes and I would say it is reasonable value. Highly recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful.

A luxury authentic Tequilla
This Tequilla from Don Alberto is made from the Weber blue Agave as all Tequilla should be. It's a luxury stong (40%) Tequilla that comes in a numbered bottle. It definitely stands out as being something a bit special compared to supermarket-bought bottles. The taste is smooth and quite earthy. It's made for drinking straight but I have found that it works well with a really good ginger beer.
