Works well
This is the first food jar I've used, and I like it. It has a wide mouth, so it's easy to fill and clean. It's smaller and sleeker than other jars I've seen people using at work, so it takes up less space in my lunch bag. It keeps my food warm really well too. I often only eat my lunch at 2 - 3 PM, having put it in there around 7 AM, and kept it in a pretty cold environment. This is longer than the 6 hours the manufacturer states it will keep food warm for, and I did find it was often a bit tepid by mid afternoon. However, I repurposed a cylindrical wine cooler bag to make a 'cosy' for the jar. That, together with making sure the food is absolutely piping hot, and pre-heating the jar with boiling water, gets me comfortably to the mid afternoon with hot food. I got the bigger size, because I wasn't sure the smaller one would hold a full meal. It's actually really capacious, if I fill it with soup or stew it is more than I can eat in one meal, so most days it's only half full. I probably would have been ok with the smaller size, but I do like the option of being able to put more bulky veg in there.

Impressive food flask
Absolutely perfect for my son's lunchbox, it keeps everything hot and he's loving having a hot lunch. My husband also has this flask for when he goes fishing and keeps his food really hot even on the coldest of days. Highly recommend.

Not too much lip on the rim
This is gonna be a bit of an odd point, but the rim that the o-ring sits on is not too deep. This means a) you can get every last spoonful of your dinner out b) it's easy to wipe out with a sponge/cloth. This might seem trivial, but I had a look around TKMaxx and John Lewis and couldn't find any option that didn't suffer these issues, including the Thermos branded ones. It's not a problem if you're eating soup, but anything thicker (curry, chilli, etc) recalcitrant bits get stuck under the rim and are a pain. The neck is more than wide enough to fit all but the chunkiest hands in, so cleaning is not an issue. There's a vent valve in the lid, so no risk of the top blowing off. I haven't tested it for spills as it's a gift, but I have no reason to expect any leaks during use based on the design. Putting cold fizzy drinks inside would be a good test as they may increase the pressure enough for the vent to release which might allow a small bit of liquid to escape at the same time. The build quality and design are both robust, and I wouldn't be worrying about damaging it in normal outdoor use (in a rucksack, the occasional drop, etc.) I've included a photo of the flask with a tin of spaghetti hoops for size reference. It's a good size and aspect ratio, more than enough space for a good hearty meal in winter or cold pasta salad in summer. I'll update this review if the recipient of the gift has any further comments or complaints, but I think they'll be more than satisfied - I may have to buy another one for myself 😬

Flask
The quality of this flask is very good and can keep the food warm. It will be better if the food temperature even longer.

amazing heat retention.
Super heat retention. Can heat up a lunch and it's still decently hot 10-12hrs late. Only once the lid did get kind of stuck (maybe due to cooling down of the air inside?) but resolved itself after an hour. We use it for our child's lunch or dinner when heading out for the day.

Great for packed lunches
Really handy size for taking rice or pasta lunches to work or school. So useful to be able to clean in the dishwasher

Very poor packaging from Stanley, and food stays hot for a few hours.
Firstly, I want to say how disappointed I was when receiving this flask. The packaging which the flask came in is an absolute joke. BTW, this is no fault of Amazon, but Stanley. The flask came wrapped in tissue paper, yes tissue paper as thin as tracing paper, just one sheet. And it was held together with a Stanley sticker. That's it. Obviously amazon packaged it well with protection and in a amazon box as usual. But due to all the previous shipping this flask has done from factory, to warehouse, to more warehouses and trucks, and vans, this flask had received some marks. The flask looked used. Not what I expect from a top brand and top price. Secondly, the food did not stay HOT for long. Don't get me wrong, it's warm enough to eat, but not hot. I've only used the flask for the first time today. I'm a truck driver, and I usually take a flask (another top brand) of food to work, the type of food you add hot water to. I preheated the flask with boiling water for 5 minutes as I've always done. . I then quickly empty the water from the flask, add the food/powder, then add boiling hot water. Lid on, sorted. But when I got to my destination about 5 hours later, the food was no longer boiling hot. At best very warm. Now the positives. The build quality is good. Looks like it will last a long time. What I like about this flask the most is the wide opening. Far better than the other food flask I have. It's a doddle to clean. No rims half way down. It's bevelled at the bottom, not squared off, which makes cleaning the bottom of the flask very easy. It really is a good flask. It's a shame they did not make the flask a little thicker to improve insulation. I've scored it 3 stars due to poor packaging from Stanley, and because the food does not stay hot for long.

So badly designed that my daughter used it three times for her hot lunch and it couldn’t be opened by her or her teacher and eventually required restaurant staff in school to force it open - returned for a refund

Wel eerst even omspoelen ;)

Me costó 28,49€ en Prime Day, ahora cuesta 36€.
