so far, works great,,, good value for what you get
great price.... I wanted this for my leather work....a smaller press for embossing dies for smaller jogs when I dont want to use my 3 ton clicker press. I added 1/4" steel plates top and bottom.... so far works great. I do regret not spending $20 more ad getting the wheel on the other side of the shaft

Cheapest 1 Ton arbor press. Works but do not expect perfection.
Ordered on May 2 and received May 10.VEVOR Arbor Press, 1 Ton Manual Arbor Press, 5.9" Maximum Height, Cast Iron Heavy-duty Manual Desktop Arbor Press, Precision Hand Press for Stamping, Bending, Stretching, Forming ($53.99)Shipping box intact which is impressive for such a heavy-pointy item. Some plywood panels lined the inside of the box and that explains why it arrived in good condition.Very greasy and oily, which is EXPECTED for budget cast iron import. Oil and grease are not only REQUIRED for operation but they prevent corrosion (rust). No rust on the press I received.ALL parts present, nothing missing. First thing I did was disassemble to inspect the parts. Splines on the shaft were cut clean and so were teeth on the ram shaft. No "gibs", just bare adjustment screws to tune out slop. Not unexpected but I didn't want to use the press that way. A little too grindy.I chopped up a few scraps of UHMWPE to make 2 gibs, front and side, for the screws to press on. Cleaned up factory lube and added some "quality heavy bearing grease" to all the moving parts. Installed my UHMWPE gibs and reassembled. NOW the adjustment screws push on the UHMWPE and the ram shaft glides on the UHMWPE. No mechanical slop at all and no more grinding.Press appears to be well built and now operates very smoothly. My only complaint (-1 star) is the press ram-to-base alignment is a little off-center. Another customer has a photo showing the misalignment. Many of the castings are likely to have the same offset. Not a show-stopper here and not bad enough to return. This press will work for me. I'm just disappointed it wasn't a little more centered. It was the CHEAPEST 1-Ton arbor press I could find so imperfections are not a surprise.-1 star from 5 because ram alignment to base is a little off-center.4 stars overall.

Good Quality for Cost
This small desktop arbor press is compact, sturdy, and perfect for light-duty tasks like metal stamping and bearing installation. Assembly was quick and straightforward, with clear instructions and minimal effort required. Despite its small size, the solid cast-iron construction provides great stability, and the lever mechanism allows for smooth, controlled pressure. Ideal for hobbyists, jewelers, and machinists who need precision in a space-saving design. Highly recommended! ๐ง๐

Poor quality
The large casting is fine. Ratchet pawl has no lift mechanism so once you do a press there is no easy way to lift the pawl so you can lift up for the next press. The handwheel is nice however the shaft only sticks out far enough to go part way into the wheel hole. Then once on it is loose, there is no set screw or shaft end screw to fasten the handwheel. Not even a hole for either.I will need to drill and tap for a setscrew on wheel and design a thumb lift for the ratchet pawl.

Great value for setting rivets and leather stamping
Works as designed. Great value. I bought this to use for leather stamping for larger stamps. Works perfectly for that as well as setting rivets, grommets and so on. It would help if you have a place to mount this, even with a temporary clamp. Not required but helps.

Gets the Job Done, but Not Top-Quality
The VEVOR 1 Ton Manual Arbor Press does what it's supposed to do, especially for light to medium-duty tasks. The 5.9" maximum height is adequate for most projects, and the cast iron construction gives it a sturdy feel. However, the overall quality isnโt the highest. Some components feel a bit rough around the edges, and you may notice small imperfections. That said, for the price, it's a functional tool that works well for occasional use, but if you're after premium build quality, you may want to look elsewhere.

1 Ton Press for cost of a 1/2 Ton
Pros: Very strong arbor press for the price. Good capacity and features for an entry level price.Nice to see they included 3 different points to get you started and you can make some more out of bolts from the hardware store.Cons: The horizontal shaft for the handle has too much play and slop for my tastes. The retaining screw for the handle is annoying as you would need to keep a wrench handy to adjust the handle. (I replaced it with a thumb screw).Summary: Overall and excellent buy for the money and the slop can be ignored without regrets at this price point and unless you are going to be using it every single day, it should last several generations.
