Review: Extremely Convenient - Great lighter. As all electric lighters, it's a bit more challenging when it comes to certain things like candle. However with the prolonged neck, the trick comes down to lighting the lowest part of the string, rather than the topmost part. So far, I've had no issues lighting anything with this. This item does have a few safety features. It will auto turn off if used too much in a short period of time, as well as if it's held on for too long (8 seconds or so) disabling it for a moment. Battery life is more than adequate. Even after playing around and personally triggering the safety measures, I have yet to even notice a sign of low battery. All in all, definitely a great product to have in the house. Review: Great, long lasting charge on a very flexible neck. Great for lighting grills, candles, or fireworks! - Works better than expected! The flexible neck is great. Stays wherever you put it, and goes back straight easily as well. I used it on the 4th of July to light fireworks. All night. The charge lasted for hours of continuous lighting, and worked great the whole time. It came pretty much fully charged - I plugged it in for a couple minutes, and the nifty little charging light went off as soon as it was done. The safety switch is great, so nobody accidentally activated it in their pockets or anything. I couldn't be happier!

Works well....but you have to get used to it...
Having to update my review now that we are about 90 days in. First, if you have a problem contact the company that shipped it to you not the company you will find online that advertises the Saberlight. The company that managed the delivery was very responsive when I had a problem and got me a new unit when the first failed. Trying to reach out by searching for Saberlight and going that route was a bad idea. Our first unit broke but was replaced. So my hope is unit #2 holds up better. Can't be too harsh as these things do happen (that's why there is a warranty) and they stand behind the warranty. A couple thoughts: Remember this creates an arc not a flame so you do have to adjust how you light a bbq when using this. There is no flame that reaches out to the paper to light it. You have to get some paper between the contact points of the head so that it is lit. You also need the paper to be thick enough so that you don't just burn a hole in the paper. Don't walk away thinking this think is hard to use- it just is different than a traditional lighter. If you press and hold it by thick enough paper (i.e. thicker than one piece of newspaper) the flame takes off pretty quickly. With a flame I would typically start the charcoal chimney by lighting in 3-4 places. With this I pick one place and focus there and that does the trick. But whereas the flame version lets you light through the holes in the chimney, here I have to lift up the chimney since there is no flame to shoot through the holes. Not a problem. Just different.

Well built, solid construction. Has a nice feel/weight to it...
Nice lighter, got some weight to it. doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. Only thing I was disappointed in was the charging USB wire is extremely short. Entire length is 7inches. So unless you have a longer wire from a Samsung cell phone, it will be dangling in mid air while charging. Maybe one of your outlets is low/close enough that it won't hang. Took pictures. After having this product for about a month now, it was working well but now I find myself constantly cleaning the tips and having to constantly have it on the charger. Charge doesn't last long at all, it's frustrating trying to light a candle cuz the tips are getting clogged within in seconds and need to clean it every time. Very disappointed I wasted money on this lighter that I thought was a great idea. Save ur money get a BIC normal lighter... had to change from 4 stars to 1 cuz it just doesn't work consistently to much maintenance it sucks.

The Future is Now - Simple yet Powerful!
My search for this product began before even knowing it existed. We really liked the flexible/long stem feature of the Bic-style lighters, because it’s more convenient for lighting stuff like the grill, candles, fireplace/oven, etc. However, we did not like that they were non-refillable - it’s both wasteful and also sort of a greedy business practice. I did know of one refillable flex-head lighter on the market but it had bad reviews - plus, keeping lighter fluid in the house is not without increased risk of fire. Needless to say, when I found this futuristic device, I was elated. No lighter fluid to contend with, it’s rechargeable, AND you never have to worry about the wind blowing out the flame when you’re trying to light something. Plus, it looks really cool and impresses guests. I love that it’s a simple concept but well executed.

So Easy to Use and to Store
The lighter worked as described. At first, I saw this tiny light and the wick took a second to light. But it caught and stayed lit. I bought the Saberlight Flex for the longer, flexible neck. I don't have to worry about matches or uncomfortable fingertips. No smoldering matchsticks to worry about. No fluid to run out. It has a double safety feature to ensure that it isn't triggered accidentally. Also, there is a light near the charge port that goes out when it's fully charged. It comes in a nice sturdy box so I store it in the box. It's the size of my tapers and fits in the drawer, neatly.

Good idea not so great on the quality
This product worked great for the first week or so however the paint on the head is thinning and the arc now jumps to the head instead of the other prong. The idea is very cool it just seems like the quality needs an upgrade. The company did send out a new one and it still hasn’t melted the idea is still very cool but a lot more care needs to be taken with this vs using a traditional lighter

So I'm sad to say in 8 months it dies
UPDATED REVIEW: It's been 8 months and I can't get it to work. It's charged, but it will not arc for me. I saw it do a little bit, but then completely stop working. I'm not sure what else to do, I've tried cleaning it and nothing. I'm lowering my stars, but will increase them if their warranty holds true, but as of now I'm not a happy customer. PREVIOUS REVIEW So far so good, it has been over a month and I've only charged it once in that time. I've made sure to light candles quite frequently to really see how the quality is on this thing. It seems to be holding up and I'll definitely rate it higher if it continues to do the job for the coming months. At the moment I recommend the saberlight and it works great in lighting candles. The length is perfect and it hasn't failed to light a wick yet. Some wicks require a bit more effort than others, but this is usually when the candle on its last leg and I'm not surprised it doesn't light. I've had a butane lighter with an extension rod and sadly it didn't last long, it still had fuel in it when it died. So if it lasts for a year it'll definitely pay for itself.
