Super cute and colorful water bottle. I know you're not supposed to put boiling water in them, so I put almost boiling, and I'm not sure I should do that, either. It seems to make the bottle weak. But if it's not that hot, I can't really feel it.

In Japanese, it's called 湯たんぽ, or "yutanpo"... Which is "hot water bottle". This particular product is very well made, and will only leak if you don't tighten the cap all the way. The interior bottle is removable and cover can be washed. The cover makes this both more comfortable to use and retain heat for longer.You fill this up with hot tap water, close it real tight, and then it keeps you warm. You can sit it on your lap, put it behind your lumbar in a chair, next to your feet under a blanket... The possibilities are endless.Warming up some part of your body this was has some key benefits from a variety of perspectives, but I'll stick to the practical ones here. First, it's not consuming energy in any form once it's been filled. It's only dissipating energy. That means that you're not drawing power (like with an electric blanket) or burning fuel (like with gas or any other kind of burner). From a a safety perspective, this is so much better. It's also an improvement in terms of cost.But also, the big advantage here is that yutanpo will eventually equalize temperature with your body as it cools. With something like an electric blanket, it will continue to provide heat... That can seem like a good thing at first, but if you fall asleep it becomes Not Good at some point. Better quality blankets have timers, but this guy uses raw science. Depending on the conditions, it can retain heat for quite a while. Longer in warmer atmosphere, longer under a blanket... You get the idea.

Since i suffer from stomach problems this was a great purchase. It didn't just keep me warm but it did help soothe the stomach pains i get on a daily basis.

I bought this for a trip to New Zealand in the winter. I usually sleep with an electric heating pad but couldn’t find one that was 220v. This hot water bottle is perfect. I fill it with the water from the kettle and put it under the covers to warm my bed before I get in. It doesn’t steam up the bed like I thought it would. It radiates heat but not moisture which is perfect for bedtime.
