DEWALT 20V MAX XR Drain Snake Kit, Brushless (DCD200D1)

This is a direct replacement for an out-of-date corded device. No more dragging around extension cords. This product works just as good as my corded device and the batteries have lasted much longer than expected.

I love Dewalt tools and this one is no exception. I am a landlord with a few properties and clogged drains are the biggest expense; this auger has saved me big $$. The 25' line is good for small house/apartments but I bought a 35' for just about everything but mains. Great alternative and comparable to Ridgid. I went with Dewalt because I have other 20v products (batteries) and like the quality.

I have used an electric ridgid the last few years. It always got the job done but the outerspinning drum made it awkward to use and painful on the arms. I open drains for a living. From lav drains to storm drains. From cable to hydro flushing. I typically use the 1/4" cable 3 to 4 times daily. I was the first one in my company to take a chance on the battery operated drain snake. I absolutely love it. I've used it for 3 months now and it is so much better then the electric. It is powerful enough to get through the heavy scale that can be extremely difficult to get through. My favorite part about the tool is being able to set it down on the customers counter next to the sink and run the drain. Only the inside spins. I keep 50' of 1/4" cable in it at all times no problem. This type of machine is the future. My coworkers are jealous as well.

It is a bit heavy to operate.

Paid for itself in a few days. Not a week after having rotorooter clear my drains… and scope them to the street to find the cleanout ($600) … I had another soft clog. 20 minute problem now and .. Happy wife happy life.

My wife’s hair is always clogging my shower. This was the price of having a plumber come twice. Learned how to use it safely. Worth the money

I used it the first time on the roof to snake out a toilet vent drain. I put the snake down into the roof vent and starting feeding it down.....the end of the snake was NOT attached to the inside of the unit and the entire snake piece went down the roof vent. WTF dewalt....seriously. This is the best engineering you could come up with. Now I have to buy just the snake piece of for this unit and figure out how it attaches. POOR design.

so far so good. got the job done with the bathroom sink. it's pretty heavy on the hands but gets the job done

This is a great tool, though the snake that it comes with is too short, 25' is not going to do much. I found a replacement 50' x 5/16" snake cable that fits perfectly and works great. I wish Dewalt would sell a 50' x 5/16" version. My clog was 42' deep and it tends to happen every year so plumbers are getting too expensive. I am now prepared for the next time. This is a typical Dewalt tool, built tough and does a great job. Only issue was that it came with only 1 battery and it states that it comes with 2, I have contacted Amazon and Dewalt and they say they will rectify this.

Can depend on dewalt 100% very dependable product

I have an issue with drainage sometimes, and this thing does the trick. It has helped me on more than one occasion

Used to unclog the drain, I was new and need a little bit of time to learn how to use it. I am happy with the tool. Would recommend it to friends.
