Fantastic product, super sharp blade and effortless slides through the lemon skin
This is the best quality ever. It’s sliced through the rind like steel through butter. The channel part of the cutter is extremely sharp and it’s wonderful and a pleasure to work with. I’m so grateful I ordered it because I also had ordered one by Mercer culinary and it was so terrible, there was no sharpness and it was only tearing and I wonder why they even bothered producing it. Obviously, I returned it immediately, but the a bar above quality is beyond amazing and makes your job so easy.

Good little bar accessory
It is sharp and does the job. But - maybe the blades are not too sharp so it needs some pressure to get those nice lemon spirals for your Martini. Still absolutely worth the price!

Works very well, cuts peels smoothly
There’s not a ton to be said about this channel knife. It cuts thru citrus peels smoothly & cleanly, leaving you with a nice thin piece of peel with which to garnish a cocktail. It leaves behind most of the pith, too, which is nice. It should be noted that this will not work well on citrus which has gone a bit soft, it just kind of digs in and tears at the peel instead of slicing cleanly. Comfortable to hold with the soft ergo handle. Oxo is usually good for that. You’re not gonna be able to express the oils from this thin slice, but that’s not the point. If you want to do that cut a “coin” of the peel with a knife or a regular peeler and use that. Then, take what you cut with the channel knife & wind it up tightly into a corkscrew shape to place on the rim of the glass. Pictured cocktail, a Hanky Panky: 1.5oz London dry style gin 1.5oz sweet vermouth 0.5oz Fernet Branca Stir all ingredients over ice, strain into a cocktail glass. Express an orange peel over the top, and garnish Cheers!

Pretty, Less Functional
This peeler is very pretty! However, it is not the easiest peeler. The top is too small to get a good grip on the fruit skin. It looks great at our bar, just not as functional as I had hoped for.

I do like that it works on lemon zest for martinis for example, but is a wide zest. Ok unless you are looking for a narrow zest.

This Bar Above channel knife is NICE. Super cool look and nice build quality. Looks awesome on bar and feels great in hand too. Yes it is a single purpose tool, but I would much rather have 2-3 specific peelers for each job if they do that one job well then a multipurpose version that can't do any well. This channel knife make a very nicely sized garnish for drinks. A nice looking garnish can really turn your cocktail game up a notch.

A great narrow channel peeler for making garnishes in ribbon form. Definitely a step above a generic one i had before from a dollar store. A bar above’s items have always come to me as higher quality items for my home cocktail bar setup. The blade is sharp and cuts through fruit flesh easily. The handle is nice and wide and rests in your hand comfortably. My first use of it was on a lemon that I made some drinks with that night. Peeled the whole lemon skin, saved the rest to make candied peels later. Definitely a great addition to my bar!

It seems well-built. It has a good weight to it, feels like quality and makes it pleasant to handle. The blade is super sharp and allows for precise cuts, effortlessly. I was impressed. It still takes some practice to be able to make long ribbons but it's definitely a good tool for it. I'd never used a tool like this (I always used a peeler for my garnishes) but it works better than I expected. I thought it was a little big (in terms of how much space it takes up in the drawer and considering how it's not an indispensible item, and single-purpose) but turns out the size makes it easy and comfortable to use. The grip is comfortable, altough I'm worried the silicone might wear out or become sticky or something. This is also what makes it not dishwasher safe, unfortunately. That's my only disappointment with it. Fortunately, it is very easy to clean. Considering it's silicone (I didn't realize this when I ordered) I'm a little worried the white handle might end up stained or yellowing but so far so good. It digs a little deep into the peel and you get some pith sometimes but it still looks good, and itsn't really meant to be eaten anyway. Fingers crossed that the blade will stay sharp a long time because I don't think I'd be able to sharpen it. Overall it's a bit expensive but it's good!

While I am completely indifferent to the colour of the handle, what I do care about is the quality of the peeler/zester and this is hands down one of if not the best I have ever used. Whether you are using this for garnishing or preparing food or for accenting for drinks this is one tool you will be happy to use. The handle is strong, durable and high quality which fits securely in your hand. This is not just a marketing slogan, rather the size allows you to manoeuvre around the fruit or vegetable without it falling or slipping because of the size of the tool. This one is fantastic and extremely sharp which makes the cutting precise and clean, but also allows the fruit to maintain its shape as your are not “squeezing” the fruit or vegetable to get the peel. Great quality versatile product that will become a regularly used kitchen tool instead of at the back of the drawer like other zesters.
