I know this is actually a CPR mask, but I purchased it for a completely different reason, and I wanted to share in case it helps another parent. My 10-year-old son was having surgery under general anesthesia, and I wanted to prepare him for having a mask placed over his face. The night before surgery, we used this CPR mask only for pretend play/practice. We role-played what would happen, practiced putting the mask over his face, and had him get comfortable breathing while wearing it. It helped tremendously! After surgery, the surgical team told me that when he got into the operating room, he put the anesthesia mask on himself and started breathing through it. I truly believe practicing beforehand helped make the experience familiar and much less frightening for him. Obviously, this is not an anesthesia mask and we did not use it medically — it was simply an inexpensive way for us to practice and prepare him for what the anesthesia mask might feel like. For another parent trying to prepare a child for surgery, especially a child who benefits from knowing what to expect beforehand, this worked wonderfully for us.

I like to keep a full emergency first aid kit. In our wonderful age of HIV and Fentanyl mouth to mouth contact for breathing is russian roulette. This is excellent protection, I just wish it had a smaller case.

This rescue breathing mask does have the oxygen port I needed for Rescue Diver training and Oxygen Provider training in case you are looking. Can't vouch for long term use but survived the training and maintained a good seal.

Easy to open and set up. Luckily I have t had to use it yet and long may that continue.

I’m working in this area and of course I don’t wanna use out of work, but in this world we never know. Good to have one if you know what to do with it. 👍
