Over the years, I've tried many hubs on different PCs. This one is the best by far. The supplied PSU provides up to 60W of power: Plenty for running a large number of external PC peripherals. I use my PC for music production so I have MIDI keyboard controllers, USB audio interfaces, USB keyboards & mice, external CD/DVD reader/writers, backup hard drives, ShuttleProV2 jog wheel... and more. Previous hubs have had difficulty powering them all. Not this RSHTECH one. It's extremely reliable and well-built. Everything just works. My audio interface is USB3.1 Gen 1 (Steinberg UR22C) and connects perfectly at the high (5Gbps) USB3 speed. A nice touch is that there's a switch for each USB port. This is surprisingly useful for powering-down devices that don't have their own power switch. I strongly recommend this hub. It mightn't be the cheapest, but it's hardly the most expensive either. Worth every penny if you value a hassle-free experience. Tip: If you're plugging this (or any other) hub into a thunderbolt docking station via a USB-C port, you may need to authorise the thunderbolt docking station first. My PC has an app called "Thunderbolt Control Center" to do this - check your PC documentation for details.

Nice build quality. Set up automatic. Currently USB-C input from MacBook Pro and permanently connected to and powering Lacie ext 4TB HDD. Remaining slots for intermittent connection to dash cam, tascam audio recorder, Iphone etc. All working smoothly with quick data transfer. Very pleased.

This oozes quality, and is happily running multiple 2.5" discs for my M1 Mac Mini home server. However, it was not reliable when connecting to my M2 Macbook Air, and the recess around the USB-C port means that not all cables fit. Recommended to try it, and if it works for you, it's probably bets in its class for the number of discs it can power.

If you are looking at this hub, there is no alternative.

This is one of my favourite purchases (I have two of them) but there is a "But" coming! The build quality is amazing, I work in I.T. so I've seen a lot. The switches have a good feel to them, it's power output is more than good, the small blue LED lights give you an instant visual as to whether each socket is on or off. General build and finish is to a really high standard, it's like unpacking a brand new iPhone. So what's not to love I hear you ask? Well, the power supply is dirty, not only does buzz/feedback/hum playback through the audio circuits, you can actually hear the PSU buzzing away with a pulse (if its the middle of a silent night). Such a pity, if clean audio isn't high on your list, buy it, you won't be disappointed. If audio is or like me you have a studio setup. Don't waste your time...

Awesome, using in my studio to replace a hub that continuously dropped connection. No connection drop outs since receiving this, so all in all a win.

Appears quality but don't let it fool you. When it worked it did so well, although the switches are not the best quality. However, build quality is not reliable. Mine has developed problems with several of the ports only working intermittently and some not working at all. This is in less than a year (10 months approx). Likely that internal wiring has weak points. Contacted the company to request a replacement with no response. Poor customer service. I would advise buying from a more reliable brand. I have replaced this hub with one from Sabrent. Hopefully that lasts a bit longer.
